I just bought a set of NOS Euro front turn signals
the bulb terminal seems to only have 1 wire
whereas the old one of course have two
for turn signal/4 way flasher & for running lights
do the Euro turn signals not have running lights?
any info appreciated

any one have any photos that show how you routed
the extra long hydraulic line for the clutch slave cyl.
I have the two-piece assy I got from Ireland
short piece of flex hose and short length of steel line.
any pics of a neat install would be super helpful
thanks

when i took my instrument cluster out
I could see the fog light switch just looks like a dummy knob
with no switch behind it.
I want to eventually put on fog light in front.
is this the same switch part number as the headlight switch?
anyone have the correct part number, or a good place to buy?

what about reduced ZDDP additives in modern formulations?
is this an issue for older engine designs?
-
maybe this has been flogged to death on here already
I am dropping in newly rebuilt engine in my '74 2002 carb.
anyone want to weigh in on which oil I should use?
synthetic?
ZDDP issues?
oil change intervals?
thanks

I am about to drop in a newly rebuilt engine.
the trans. is bolted up.
what's the best way to find TDC or install the dist.
so that I can start it and run it to use a timing light?
it's a vacuum advance dist.

any one know the part number for the plastic clips/clamps
that secure the steel brake lines that cross over to the passenger front, against the firewall? Plus one more clip/clamp on the brake booster bracket?
I can't find these in the diagrams at maximilian etc

back to my project after long hiatus
I installed a rebuilt steering box, new links etc.
question, should the pitman arms hit against both stops on the subframe?
as you can see from this photo. when the steering box runs out of travel,
the arm is not against the stop. if i move the arm on the splined shaft, then the gap is on the idler side. i cant get it to hit the stop on both sides
any ideas? is this a problem?

you're right- i should have looked there.
torqued it up more, and now the washer turns together
seems correct
thanks

just putting my steering together.
any help appreciated.
1. castle nut on top of idler bolt- what is torque value to tighten this?
2. I have tightened it so far what seems right-
QUESTION: should the silver washer turn with the idler bolt?
it now does not. when I move the idler link, the castle nut turns
on top of the steel washer. Is that the way that this should function?
or should the silver washer be turning with the nut?
thanks

I have come to terms with all the rust work my "california car" needs
( the old British Columbia phone book I found under the back seat was an indication of how expensive my education would be)
I found these weird scars in the inner wall- right where the door brake
is. is this an accepted/required way to service the door brakes?
it's on both sides. any ideas?
should I have the body shop weld these back up?
I ripped out all carpet tonight. when I took out the seat belts I saw the indicator wires. What's the best way to terminate those wires?
back to the fuse panel?
thanks all for your help so far. As soon as I get the rebuilt steering back together this thing gets rolled to the body shop, rust repair, and then back to my house to receive the rebuilt motor.

there are some kind of fiber or rubber washers on those tapered shafts
you can check if they are still intact
-
I have a brand new center link on my bench- installing this weekend.
Correct: the tapered ends of the center link do not themselves swivel.
That's not to say it can't stand replacing-
I figure this stuff is 35+ years old....

hey
I see you're in Alameda
I don't how far you're taking this
but I just redid my steering assembly
I had the subframe, struts and assorted goodies
powder-coated at Leon's Powder Coating in Oakland
Very reasonable, and I got it back the same day

I am going to place an order with Walloth u. Nesch this week.
they have floor pans ( actually on sale this month)
I think the landed cost per pan will be lower with a larger order.
If you ( or anyone in the bay area) are still interested let me know
I will be pulling the trigger latest Tuesday
