  1. bmdubl02.  Yes mate, there is a good reason.  The car is getting a totally stripped to have all the shell repaired and then rebuilt.  The interior is being completely redone too.  Unfortunately, I am in the UK so tin worm is a major problem over here with our damp climate.

Once the dash is out of the car, I may recover it, as it has a couple of cracks.  It's gotta be easier to do on a bench rather than in the car !

Ah - Good answer, please provide pics of the refurbished dash for us. Best of luck!

  2. Cheers guys.  I am convinced mine is a 2 piece now.  So I will attempt this soon.

There must be a real good reason to do this…..I have never seen a "new" 2 piece dash advertised anywhere….That's the only reason why I would want to go through the nightmare of removing/reinstalling the dash.

  3. Congratulations on an excellent career and making it to the finish line safely…..I retired from the Fire Service nearly a year ago and things are finally getting done around here, and on the tii.

Don't know how I got anything done when I had to go to work...

  4. It is my belief that prices have been on a serious upswing recently, and they do not show signs of stopping, my point being that prices you may find from even as little as a few months ago may not be representative of where the true market is today. Which presents its own set of problems, as anyone contemplating selling may find delaying works to their benefit unless there is an unexpected interruption of the upward price climb sometime soon.

I do agree with you… However (my experience here..), one may have a very sound tii, and advertise it for a fair price, not misrepresent the car, price it fairly (within the "going rate" of said car's condition) and find it very difficult to sell……..seems that people expect every forty year old tii to be in concourse shape, and if it has a minor flaw or two the deal is off……we're talking about tii's priced in the mid teens (8 outta ten) and prospective buyers are expecting them to be 10 outta 10, which would fetch mid ($) twenties.

Those mid to upper teen priced tii's seem difficult to sell.
