  1. I realized after the fact here on the FAQ's that it is not recommended to use the NKG resistance plugs but they're already installed.... I'm not having any problems though. It starts up, idles, runs and drives fine. I haven't taken it on the freeway yet. Should i replace them again right away with bp6es or are the problems people describe ones that develop over time?

  2. Thanks I appreciate it. I checked fuses, connections are good and none are blown.

When I checked the voltage earlier, I checked right at the socket. I used an independent ground as well as the ground from the socket itself and both gave me "juice".

Any other suggestions you can think of?

  3. My passenger side headlight won't come on, but highbeam works. My driver side is fine for both high and regular.

I thought it was just the bulb so i got new headlamps but still doesn't work. I tried switching them all around to make sure it wasn't just random back luck on the passenger side, but they all work on the driver's side, and none of them work on the pass side.

I checked voltage and they're getting about 12.7 or .8 with the car on for both regular and high beams on both sides so indication of a problem yet.

The driving lights in both the fenders come on as they are supposed to so no help there either.

It seems like it should come on based on the above, not sure where to go from here. I don't have any other electrical problems whatsoever. This is my daily driver so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  4. Hi there, I'm hoping you can help me, I registered for the show but couldn't make it today and had arranged for someone to pick up my goodie bag and tshirt for me in my absence. When my friend went to pick it up, it was already gone. I definitely don't think there was any "foul play"l involved, but am just hoping it turns up or perhaps someone realized I wasn't there and took it upon themselves to get it for me, not knowing I had made other arrangements. This is NOT a rant or complaint, just hoping it turns up. Of course, in the end it's my fault for not being able to make it up there in person, but it's worth a shot to post on here and see if someone has it. And I look forward to all the show pics!!! Thanks to all, Jay

  5. Welcome Jack, I also live in the LA area (Redondo Beach) and have an automatic, and bought mine for similar reasons as yourself about a year ago. I'd like to come check yours out sometime if time permits. I see you have the contact email disabled on your profile, but mine is webthread @ aol dot com if you'd like to meet up sometime. Best, Jay

  6. Yep, it's definitely a frigiking and it's definitely there. The console also has a 70's Boman Astrosonix radio, which is actually what prompted me start this whole thing because the radio works, but hardly, and after a year of living with it daily, I finally decided I needed to have a larger selection of preset stations and an aux line to plug in my iphone. I am putting in a very plain looking early 90's Blaupunkt CD player that of course doesn't look stock, but I consider it "non-intrusive" in appearance and doesn't have any fancy equalizer flashing lights or anything. I am keeping everything I remove and am doing it in a way that can be easily reversed.

I even have a spare frigiking unit and console pieces that I've picked up along the way, but no wiring diagram to speak of, and who's to say the guys at the dealership installed the AC as nature intended 38 years ago anyway. It looks like the 25 amp fuse has been in there for a long time.

I was hoping it was a simple answer attributed to the frigiking, but of course it's never that easy. The PO may have a note written somewhere about it, he has lots of tech notes on scraps of paper and the shop manuals, etc. Time to start playing around with it. Thanks guys.

  7. There is a 25 amp in the turn signal fuse #6 from previous owner instead of the 5 amp. Could it be because my car has the frigiking AC unit so the bigger fuse was put in instead? I noticed it because I was fiddling with the radio wires, and then my turn signals stopped working, so I traced it back to the violet/white wire, and then ended up at the fuse box where I saw the blown 25 amp. I hope that made sense. Hopefully someone else has experienced this. My previous owner was a career Hughes spacecraft engineer so I don't think he would have thrown in a 25 amp without good reason. Thanks.
