  1. Oh thanks Mark, I thought I had remembered that these were straight bolt up to 2002's? But that must be my memory failing. Tom
  2. set of four "Bottlecaps", E22 BMW rims and tires. Will make a nice upgrade to your 2002, or more current BMW. Tires have tread and are driveable, but would need new rubber soon. Rims are in good shape with no real curb rash, etc. In Sebastopol, CA near Santa Rosa
  3. Rear seats, dark brown custom covers. Would clean up to be in good, not great condition (fabric in very good shape, could use steam clean). Pick em up this weekend! Also available if interested ($): Round washer water bottle missing cap (good condition), round base radio antennae (new), near new brake pads, rear mid-trunk chrome for roundies. Make offers on above. Email for location and pics, tom shores at earthlink.net
  4. Sorry about that... been crazy and out of town. Around the remainder of this week: Sat early AM, and Sunday AM. Let me know if you still want.
  5. Cloth, brown custom upholstered (not stock) rear seat. Velour centers with vinyl surrounds. Likely could clean up reasonable nicely, or use as base for recover. No tears. Free. Sebastopol, CA Near Santa Rosa. Going to Novato tonight if someone local wants to connect. No picture at the moment.
  6. Here's what we do on the Nor Cal coast for fun. We call this spot "Disney".
  7. Hey all, missing one black plastic chrome grill slat cover. anyone have one kicking around?
  8. Hi All, Funny play on words, haha! Wondering if anyone has creative ideas on compressing front springs (while strut is mounted and all is on the car)? I wanted to quickly add hose to the top of my springs (the spring pad is gone, and I like the ride height). I was going to try and do it without dropping the strut. I can almost get it just by hand. Tried ratchet straps, they're too long. Tried squeeze clamps, not strong enough. Creative ideas?
  9. I'll try to take a photo soon. I vinyl painted mine black. It was nasty prior so no risk. I'll probably go back to white when I replace. But I like the black just fine.
  10. They're good guys. It's just that it is a salvage yard. They have piles and piles of parts and aren't that helpful over the phone, because...well they're a salvage yard. Once there, they are usually happy to let you dig around and I've found the prices to be negotiable. Especially if you take the time to shoot the BS and as long as you aren't thin-skinned. I've never had any success on the phone with salvage yards, and this is no exception.
  11. ...wheel bearings, caliper bolts, and lug nuts I've checked and rechecked. The strut bearings and top nut are worth me looking at. I've never touched them, and am not familiar with them. The driver and pass sides look slightly different though, and I can see bearings, which doesn't seem right.
  12. Sorry, PU = polyurethane. I'll check the suggestions above. Hadn't considered exhaust, so I'll check that after reading through the shock tower conversation at the bottom of the page.
  13. Hi all, 73 roundy...slowly working my way through the car, improving where I can. I have a mysterious clunk that I can't identify. Sounds like it is coming from the front suspension, possibly pass side. I've had the car up on stands replacing brakes and brake lines, etc. and crawled around looking for the issue...couldn't find anything. Sound only appears over bumps, and I can't replicate by bouncing on the front while stationary. My initial thoughts were: engine mount, loose front suspension components, bad bushings, broken spring. I've checked all of these as best I can and don't see a thing wrong. Most bushings have been replaced with PU, shocks seem fine, engine mounts look OK. Any ideas, I'm nearly stumped and about to take it in so someone on a lift (and more knowledge can check it out)
  14. Helps immensely. They seem excessively long, but the photo helps. The shiny-clean wheel well is inspiration as well. Thanks a bunch for the photo. Tom
  15. Looks like I'm going to need to find a photo or schematic. my manual is severely damaged in the majority of the brake section... of course. Based on what I can tell the ss lines would be way too long, if I simply replaced the OE rubber. Don't need a reminder that I should only do one at a time next time.
  16. out comes the stupid... so the calipers are female and the ireland both ends are female...
  17. out comes the stupid... so the calipers are female and the ireland both ends are female...
  18. I double checked. You are correct. So, in that case, you just bypass the hose hanger on the strut and to straight from hard lines to the caliper?
  19. Hi all, Got the ireland SS brake line kit as part of a brake overhaul. Tossed the old rubber lines and am now confused on what new line goes where. Do you bypass the old hanger and go straight from the solid line in the wheel well to the caliper? In other words, what was a two piece line becomes one? Or am I missing some logic? The kit has two shorts, two medium and two long hoses total. Thanks all, T 73' non-tii
  20. Hi All, Taking up space in the garage! Passenger and Driver matching flofit seats. Came out of a 73, passenger in nearly perfect condition, driver no tears, but fabric is stretched (so a little baggy) from use. With tracks. Will ship if I have to, but rather sell to someone in Northern CA. Seats are near santa rosa, ca $200 obo. Also have a brown rear seat in great condition. Custom upholstered with velour centers. Free with the flofits or $50 w/out.
  21. Crappy cell pic with bad lighting... but you can see how they look in general. I did not take very much time in fitting them, but did do it with the seats out of the car which is easier. They fit better after use, which is great...
  22. I have recently. I think they're fantastic, they are closest things you'll ever find to not looking like covers. Their customer service was great, and I'd use them again in a heartbeat. Been meaning to do a post on it with pics, but have not gotten around to it. Tom
