Hey BLUNT,
Have you tried calling Creighton? I know he doesn't get through here much anymore but this sounds like one of those times when he would chime in with factory cut sheets etc.
Just a thought

Thanks, but I want new metal. I do not want to transplant pre-cancer.
I truly appreciate the offer though.

I think the water pump is a bolt on upgrade.

That thing is BAD ASS. Now you just need to cut up a guage cluster and mount it back in there to seal the deal and then you could hide the batts.

I bought a "rebuilt" m10 that came with a 4 speed attached it had obviously been hacked from the vehicle. Anyway my question is did the factory ever produce a chrome shift lever?
The tranny has a chrome shift lever, it does not appear to be any different but I have not pulled it and compared it with a stock lever. Could this be some short shift or something?
TIA

Check e30tech.com the guy from 666 fab got his going then sold the car. Others on that site have had good results with the GSXR tb's though.

I am just getting ready to buy one. Are they nice? I am trying to justify the extra dollars over a 135.
TIA

I have seen recovered seats where they ran right over the button so it is not there anymore. Try pushing and see if something gives. It will be towards the rear of the car from the plane of the headrest rods right where it starts to curve.
Good Luck

Do you have any experience with the folks at Elgin cams? They are just down the street from you and I was wondering if you have ever dealt with them. When I called they were more than happy to give me a complete class on cams right over the phone. Perhaps we could get them to link up with us. Their prices seemed stupid good, like half of Schrick or anyone else.

Regardless of what you do it is going to be "tippy" side to side so be careful. the front to back is where the real weight is, and in my opinion that is where you have to be careful.

I found that if you put a 4x4 or a piece of unistrut parallel to everything you can put the trolley jack back far enough to find center of gravity. I start at 6 inches behind the center of the sub-frame and go from there. It is going to be tippy side to side so be careful. The most important thing in my opinion is to have plenty of upward pressure when you remove the subframe bolts, like the whole front ent just off the stands. Then lower and adjust SLOOOWLY. Take it back up at the first hint of imbalance. If you do not have enough upward pressure at the get go something is going to pop and hurt someone, most likely your closest friend or loved one and next in line is you.
Good Luck

The LED lights are nice if you are working on internals of engines, rear ends, tranny's etc. the color of the LED light make metal shards fluoresce and they are really easy to spot.

I have been folowing your blog but haven't been there lately.

The cheapest solution that I know of is to buy a circle key switch (radio shack, Fry's etc) and make a starter disconnect. The alarm system will require you to do this any way. Basically you will be breaking the wire between the key and the starter. Then hide the switch in some truly deviant spot. I kind of like the trunk myself but it should not be in plain view. The other good cheap deterrent is to buy a flashing LED and put it somewhere very conspicuous, a faux alarm as it were.
Good Luck

Ash,
Have you tried Winchester? They buy their BMW stuff from a place called SSF in south city and can usually have stuff same day or worst case next day. I have hit them up for some oddball shit and they have always come through.
