  1. I have brought it up a couple of times once in dec. and once in oct. or nov.

They do exist. There is a racer out there somewhere that says his car is a firebreathing monster and someone replied that there was a caged out autox car sitting with one somewhere in the mid-west.

I always thought that the ~93 RX-7 turbo would be an excellent donor and it should get you ~200 at the rears stock. On the other hand if you were to chip the stock set-up or Megasquirt the thing you could probably get to the 250-275 range and still have it reliable.

I am not at all familiar with rotary engines, however I know of guys that have done the swap in Spitfires and all they did for the tranny was to make an adapter plate for the bell housing and use the stock Triumph set-up.

I personally have fallen so far into the illness that I cannot bring myself to do this to an o2. Maybe to a later dime a dozen model, but not an o2.

    Good Luck

  2. Esty,

Don't you think that if all they need is a VIN # and proof for a $100 certificate they should be able to give us a factory correct sticker for the mint date info.

I would be happy to pay $10 for the real deal.

Actually probably the only reason that I am forcing my son to look at BMW colors only is because of the stickers.

He wants a Chevy aluminum V-6 and a GMC truck color.

I told him that I would do that to any e21/e30 he wanted, but there is no f'ing way I would do it to an o2.

  3. I am in the middle of a bare metal nut and bolt build and I am having a real "counseling" moment with removing the sticker on the drivers door.

The car was originally Amazonas and we are going with Anthrazite grau or maybe Polaris. I want desperately to exorsize the sticker but I also desperately want it there.

I think we should approach Mobile Traditions as a group and ask them for repro's.

If they are willing to give us card stock "Certificates" for our cars for ~50 euros why shouldn't they reproduce the mint stickers for us?

Maybe this should be a poll.

    Please chime in,

I will be happy to get beaten down by the factory I am just curious how much support I have.

    Happy o2ing

  4. If you go with PVC, I HIGHLY recommend going with sch.80. The right way to do it is either copper or galvanized rigid pipe. I realize that it seems like overkill but you have to take into account that you are building a bomb. Which ever way you go make sure and put in the drip loops and slope the piping (most compressors come with a diagram) it makes all the difference in the world. Especially if you live in a humid environment. Definitely include a drier also. If you are going to be painting or sand blasting you are also going to want a second drier as close to the tool as possible.

  5. There was a thread earlier today or yesterday I think it was the "can anyone identify these" where in it is written that if you run a wire from fuse 12 to the positive side of the coil you can eliminate that whole harness that goes along the firewall.

I think the only other wires in that harness are grounds, the one that goes to the condenser and the neg. side of the coil. So conceivably you could ground those over by the coil and pull all of that shit out.

  6. Thomas,

Summit and JEGS both sell DIY racing plug wire kits that you terminate yourself. They are very high quality and on your doorstep in two days. You can make the any length you want up to about 30", just make sure you buy the one with the right ends.

Be careful of putting them in a loom and DO NOT EVER use tyraps on them you will get cross fire.

    Good Luck

  7. Todd,

Only the is models had the LSD. The is's do not have a badge on the back, or you can take off the rear cover of the diff. If all you see are gears it is an open, if there is a big can looking thing in the middle it is an LSD.

    Good Luck

  8. I bought a clutch slave from them and the box said Beck Arnley (made in Germany) slide it out of the box and it says ATE on it. I think all of the higher quality American replacement parts companys by the stuff for our cars from OEM suppliers and repackage.
