  1. Walcott unt Nesch catalog. They look narrow compared to the belt line trim clips.

    Try Blunt first

Yes, those are the clips!  (#51131829651) They are narrower than the beltline clips, from what I remember.  I had these in a plastic baggie in my parts box & now I cannot find them anywhere.  I emailed Blunt and now that I have the part # I'll google them as well, thanks all!

  2. Hey Mike,

Yeah I have it. How about 20 bucks for the block and for shipping included? I never got any interest on the whole bumpers, so I am considering striping them down, selling the rubber bits (all in perfect condition) and scrapping the metal bits.

Thanks, I've got a deal set up to buy one, but I'll let you know if the deal falls through.

    Mike

  3. Wow, lots of great advice & I agree with almost all of it. All I'll add is try to stick with your plan, think about it longer than you think you need to. Plan drift and changing direction of a build = $$$$$$. I built & heavily modified a 77 930 prior to my 2002. I changed my plan about 4 times. Porsches are expensive to build already, but I probably spent 3 times what I should of spent just by changing my mind/plan.

My 2002 plan was to do as much of the work as I could myself, including bodywork and paint, and I'm glad I did. Don't just write checks (unless that's what you're into), try to enjoy what you learn and maybe reflect a bit on why you're spending your time and money on building it in the first place...I built my 930 while I was unconsciously "escaping" from life-things when I should have been dealing with them consciously. This 2002 build is completely the opposite. I'm fully invested, and learned tons more, enjoyed every minute and the people I met along the way. It's your canvas...plan it out and enjoy it.

  4. I think about a quarter of an inch from flush  is considered normal.  I have read it said that perhaps BMW did this on purpose to protect the seals. :)

My problem is the opposite... to get the passenger side to go UP all the way.  (I am going to look into replacing the pin that typically fails).

Which pin is that? I currently have my panels off and would like to adjust/optimize my window movements.

    Thanks

  5. J.R., I've used this one from a 60s bronco with no issues, $17 on eBay. You can hook up your cable actuator to it as well and it will open & close. Just make sure you orient it correctly ( so it will open when you slide the heater lever).

    Cheers!
