I remember seeing these seats http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=SCA%2D80%2D1000%2D51L&view=1&N=700+150+4294925230+4294839019+4294804476+ In the black 02 that sold for like 32k or something like that...I was just wondering if anyone knew how they did it, if any mods had to be done, how high they sat in the car ect.

seem like they would be pretty comfy, and functional with the huge bolsters that they have...

Whadda you guys think??

I've actually got one of those sitting in my living room waiting for a test fit. I got it off a 911 guy who sold it for $20 because "it didn't belong in a Por-sha". I've been meaning to pull a seat from my restoration project to-be and compare rails, but haven't done it yet.

If it's not a rush, I can probably snap some comparison pics which it in my 76 this weekend.

Oh, and from sitting in it in my living room, yes they are comfy and well bolstered for a street seat.

DAMN!! What a steal!!

I actually looked em up on procar, and there are actually seat adapters for them to be installed in the 2002 surprisingly. So i think i will probably end up buying the seats from summit, and the brackets from another online provider to avoid paying the shipping costs for the seats

But def. give us some feedback on how they fit!!

What site did you see the adapter at? On the Procar site (http://www.procarbyscat.com/Adapters.asp) I don't even see a section for BMW, much less for an 02. I'd love to buy an adapter instead of having to cut off/weld existing rails. That's actually the biggest reason the seat isn't in a car yet.

Thanks! . You'd think with as much time as I spend on Summit figuring out how to spend money I don't have, I would have noticed that (I have a 69 F100 for my tow vehicle/muscle car fix, and waste a lot of time browsing Summit). I wonder how much height it will add?

Ok, here we go. I've just got the seat sitting in the car, since I don't have any mounting harder to bolt it up (yet, thanks for the lead on Summit). Figure that the seat will sit about .5-1 inch higher with the proper rails and adapter under it. Sorry for how nasty the seat looks, I haven't had a chance to finish patching it and clean it up yet. Part of how I got it for $20 :)

Side by side with the stock seat from my 76. Both need some major TLC

Underside of both seats. The rails on the Scat seat are about an inch narrower, so the adapter is a must.

More in car. My foot is on the front so the seat sits flush on where the rails would sit.

And some more

My wife and son sitting in it. It slid over a hair, but it is a pretty good example.
