Fuller than it used to get

Had a ride home on the hook the other morning. No fuel! Replaced the electric fuel pump and on the first hill it ran the side draft dry. Pulled the fuel hose off the carbs and put it into a quart oil bottle I filled with gas and hung on the radiator. Got me home.

Problem was the pump couldn't pull the gas. I had a crack in the line and in the process of finding it and fixing it I removed the fuel gage sender unit just to check everything. Upon hooking it back up I put the spade lugs back on, what's the big deal, well the connection had some resistance in it and the on and off rubbed it clean. Suddenly the gas gage read full not at the 3/4 full line. Been that way since I bought the car 25 years ago.

The things you find out.

have fun
