Need rear defrost rimer relay info

One of the reasons so many '02 rear defroster grids are dead is that it's too easy to forget and leave it on. There is no light or timer, and the switch doesn't really stand out when it's on.

Some cars have a defrost timer relay that automatically switches off power after ten minutes or so. I'm looking for one of those relays so I can adapt it to my 02s. I believe some VW, Volvo, Porsche, or M-B models from the 70's-90's have those relays. Can you point me to a part number or model and year? Thanks.

- many US made cars had them - might be easier to find and no harder to adapt.

i know that early 90's hondas have them. i do not know how or if they will work though.

Wait a second.. so you're telling me that they make timed relays?! I want one so that I can have my electric fan run for 5 minutes after turing off the car once the relay looses hot switched power.

I'll keep that in mind as I look at defrost timers. In fact, it's possible I could find a fan timer before I find a defrost timer, and the former might work as the latter.

Thats what I was just trying to figure out. I have found pulse activated timers but I (we) want timers to draw power directly from the battery after its "sense" wire goes cold.
