2002Tii Clutch Slave Cylinder Removal

I cant remove the clutch slave cylinder from the tranny. I already took off the 2 circlips and i've been using a mallet to bang out the clutch but it moves just a tidbit.

Am i missing a step? is there something else i need to remove?

I assume you are talking about the 4-speed slave cyl and not the 5-speed.

you've got to work it back and forth quite a bit to get it out. Be careful as the housing (bellhousing) is brittle and it can crack. You have dis-similar metals and they corrode. Take your time and work it back and forth and it will come out. It was easier when the transmission was out of the car - but in the car use an emory cloth or sandpaper on the exposed bits so when you get things moving you won't have any more resistance from the rusted iron.

I was fortunate enough to have my slave develop a leak that saturated the mounting/slave cylinder. Seems that this freed-up things and mine slid right out. Maybe try this?
