Has anyone tried the BMP short shift kit? it goes for a rediculous price of like 270. Is it any better than anything from 2002Haus?

Love this article: http://www.mz3.net/articles/143.html

give that a read and then hit the pick & pulls. You can probably use something out of a newer car. There are a few photos of lower shift units at different ratios. Take your pick! You could also fab up one of your own if you dare!! If you can weld it's REALLY easy - just weld a section between the ball and lower attachment point.

(I am using a 5-speed e21 gearbox with stock 2002 shifter and it's nice. I noticed a HUGE difference at first but I went from a thrashed 4-speed gearbox to a nice tight 5-speed with rebuild and all new parts. I'd like to go to something a little bit shorter - maybe only about 1/4" longer and shorten the upper shifter about an inch or 1.5")
