Which 320i Head will work best on a 02 M10 block with 9.5's

you grind a small (very small) relief in the combustion chamber for piston clearance. We've done this a couple of times with no issues. I don't know if the 1.8i head will work.

Thought so, I guess they did not change the combustion chamber design thru the years 77-83? Just wondering if there were E12 heads that could not accomodate 9.5 piano tops..

this is a better answer... the 1.8 liter version was what I was wondering about... the 2 liters should be ok...

E12 9.5:1 piano tops can be used with an E21 cylinder head with minimal grinding. There's only one small point of interefernce.
