Question about 700 VIN...

Hi Guys,

I am trying to find out if the 700 VIN and engine numbers should match, or are they not matching numbers on the car but matched via a database in Munich.

Also, does anyone have a  brake down of the VINs through the years and what they mean (VIN decoding)?

hello Doug , our 700 had engine numbers matched vin . 

you can find the vin brake does on by going to bmw700.net download the part catalog and it shows the vin brake down in the first section . hope this helps
