WTB brake master cylinder

Looking for MC 34311120478, but don't want to pay $800-1,000+

Fits E12, 2002tii, E3 & E9 (I think)

I use E12    ( 75-77 530i )  brake M/C          RMEuropean    222.22      plus 2 new grommets and filler tubes

Hey Rick,

I looked at exploded diagrams on Mobile Tradition website and they look the same, but the difference in part # bothers me. My 34311120478 is a direct fit for other models as are numbers it superceded. Have you actually installed a US spec MC in a Euro car? I would have thought the parts data base would have shown compatibility.

The e12 530i had rear disc brakes so it doesn't have a residual pressure valve for the rear drum brakes. Other than that it's the same thing as the tii master cylinder. You can buy an aftermarket residual pressure valve and install it in the line going to the rear brakes.

The decision has been made. 

Apple hydraulics is 1 hour from my home and they will rebuild mine.

I want to keep as close to stock where ever possible.

Unlike just about every vehicle I have owned, this one shall remain unmolested.

With about 12k miles (4k from me) on a 48 year old car,

this one will be preserved for the the guy my son sells it to when I'm gone
