Alternator/ Water Pump Belt Problem.....

I need to replace the belt on my '72 02 (no AC) and I got the belt that is supposed to fit (10x875) but it's too small. The belt I pulled off is a 10x890...I'm thinking that somewhere along the line a previous owner put a larger sized pulley on the car. What is the size of the stock pulley arrangment???

thanks

you might want to pick up some delrin (sp?) bushes, check the bracket for cracks and other damages

I think I bought 3 different size belts for my car before I found the 'correct size' but, that was before I found this board...

Also consider the quieter long lasting belt made up of pieces...

used for cabinet saws and wood working equipment - perfect for the 2002

I haven't tried it yet so YRMV.
