OK( some ?'s regarding the 320 alternator swap..

So I got a 320i alternator installed it like the FAQ says to, but I have NO Alternator light on the dash. If I hook the plug back up to the regulator the light comes on and goes off when it should.

What gives? why doesnt the light come on (AT ALL!!) when I dont have the regulator hooked up?

internally regulated.

and connect it to D+ on the alternator.

hmm,

ok, just to make sure:

there are 2 blue wires, one runs from regulator to alternator and one that runs from your dash to the regulator. It sounds like the wire that you attached to the alternator is the one that runs to the regulator. Thet will work too. But if you want to completelly bypass the external regulator, cut the other wire, the one that runs fromthe dash to the regulator, and connect that one to the alternator.
