Does anybody here run e-code lights? I am considering buying some since I tossed my old set of cibies cause the lense was cracked and poorly fixed, they basically weren't in such great shape anymore. Big deal e-code isnt DOT but um.. yea. I can get a pair of 7" Hella e-code H4 lights for $70 + ~$10 sh. General consensus? What do people think?

Just make sure they are adjusted properly and you should be fine.

Much better than any DOT pattern, though since 1997 most DOT patterns are very close to E code patterns. It took the DOT way too long to allow those changes.

Because, frankly I dont know the difference between the two! Maybe the VP's are just as good and manage to not blind the people coming in the other direction quite as much.

DOT legal Hella Vision Plus (70477) "Based on e-code"

or E-code Hella (70476) not DOT. mm decisions.

1. VP are crap.

2. Hella e-code H4 are the best lighting bargain.

3. Use the standard 55/60-W bulbs.

4. Aim them properly and check yearly.
