The 02 crank weighs just a tick over 39lbs.. and the m3 2.3L

crank weighs 45lbs.. something to think about when knife

edging... or stroking

Few more data points on crank weights..

Crank weights in the ETK are for sets including bearing shells, these shells weigh 0.460 kg for both S14 & M10.

Bare cranks

M10 crank = 37.57 lb

M10 hub = 1.1 lb (stamped pulley)

S14 crank = 43.96 lb

S14 hub = 5.3 lb (damper)

S14 sport E3 crank = 38.67 lb (11 21 1 316 978)

The lightest cranks for M10 were the early 71 mm stroke 1600 that had only four balance weights (versus eight weights on the later).
