Hi all,

Hopefully someone can help me out here. I bought a set of 320is Recaro seats a couple weeks ago, and they arrived today. When I went to pick them up, the box was broken open, and all the hardware was missing. It was shipped in a Ziplock bag, which fell through the hole. I'm more than a little pissed at Greyhound bus lines right, but I need to carry on, and find replacement hardware.

I'm hoping that someone will be able to look up the part numbers of all the plastic seat parts, and the allen head bolts that secure the bottoms to the backs. I will need to phone the dealer, and I really don't want to confuse the parts guy.

Also, if anyone has any spare Recaro seat bolts, or any of the palstic trim pieces, please let me know.

Thanx,

Al

Carl's place. a few years ago I needed a special Recaro seat adjustment knob and I got it through one of the 2 . I spoke to "Sean" as i recall. He faxed me a complewte blow-out schmetaic of a reacro like mine with all the parts shown. They can set you right up. I think it was La Jolla Ind. the more I think about it. I had a hell of a time finding Recaros bits and pirces until i talked to them. email me off bd if you have any problems- i will look through the mess for the paperwork. Good luck- I think you will be able to get them together with these guys' help.

In todays world you expect the package to get the hell knocked out of it. Whoever sent the box without securing the hardware...Well, they didn't do the job!

The box was sent from one of my oldest, closest friends. I bought the seats from another 02er, and had him ship them. His finacee is a merchadiser for the Brick in Calgary. She brought home one of those super thick furniture boxes, and then packed it with foam. They packed the hell out of it.

I'll put it to you this way. One of the head rests is badly bent, and the blind nuts that are welded into the seat, where the back bolts to the bum? Well, they're broken off, and floating around in the seat. I shit you not, I thought that the bus must have crashed. I've shipped a ton of stuff, and NEVER seen damage like this. Then they tried to duct tape the box back together!?!?!

My friend helped them load the box on the bus, and it was fine. Calgary is a 12 hour drive from here, and I picked the box up at the depot. Somewhere between the receiving door, and the customer pickup area, this thing got beat VERY badly. It was no fault of the shipper. It actually looks like someone kicked it repeatadly, until the box finally split, and all the foam fell out of it.

I've already filed a complaint with Greyhound. I bought a set of Recaros from Dave PA on this board, and he shipped them in a similar box from Pittsburgh to Bellingham Wa. The box was perfect. Also with Greyhound. No need for the damage they received. These seats are now nothing but parts, and I paid a decent buck for them.

to the destination.

Of course the drive back on the milk crate is no fun.

Gawd, The Brick. I remember those stores. Funny though, they don't carry any masonary supplies.

of seats, but I'll be happy to share if it will help get your seats back together.

As regards your shipping experience, about 6 months ago, I had a Getrag 245 5 speed severely damaged by UPS - I've shipped several with no problems, then this one gets trashed - it takes a pretty good hit to crack a case!

To add insult to injury, UPS refused to honor the shipping insurance BECAUSE I DIDN'T USE A NEW BOX!!!
