Need for Speed 4 isn't a bad game, but I'd hardly call it a racing sim. But it's cool that someone's put together the 2002 models, that's great.

I've been in the games industry for the past 5 years, working in the 'games physics' sector. My last company, MathEngine, made physics toolkits that developers could use to simulate cars, among other things. I made sure that we had a red 2002 model in one of our main demos, 'Grease Monkey', and I was always pleasantly surprised when someone we showed it to recognized what it was.

Someday, in my spare time, I'm going to put together an open source racing project featuring 2002s and other vintage tin.

Looks to me like the racer has a highly modified, backwards-opening hood? Or is it made to pop off vertically? ;->

Just curious.
