Valves adjusted?points set to .016?Timing set at steel ball on flywheel? Set idle at about 1000rpm, adjust mixture screw in till engine starts to run rough then back it out to best idle[approx.21/2 turns]then djust your idle screw up or down to approx. 800rpm Good luck, Danny.

OK so Im a bit stupid or plain slow..you choose, Solex is a new animal to me as is the car itself, Have a 76 2002, with a 32/32, In the "wonderfully worded" (choke..cough..)Haynes manual it shows the fuel mixture set at 5 (Mongo said 2-1/2) Ill go with Mongo...BUT the air mixture screw needs to be set where? I set it at 2-1/2 to begin, but damn if it still flooded the plugs. I tested the spark (hard with noone to help) but I know I have fire. Or do I need to begin at the points? I just know that I was trying to smooth the idle and I messed with the air mixture screw and all went south. Can anyone help Besides suggesting a new carb set up? Lord knows the cash aint here for that quite yet THANK YOU !!!
