How do you remove the steering box?

And what the hell is an "extractor"? Sounds like a movie the Gov'ner of Cali would be in, but the manual says that's what should be used.

I have been losening bolts but I can't get the rod that connects to the steering wheel to remove from the box? Understand? Sorry, but I can't remember any of the proper terminology.

Then disconnect the Pittman arm from the center track link and finally the three bolts holding the steering box to the subframe.
