I am in the process of restoring it and I discovered something unusual, but very cool. I was taking the rear seat out and looked at the parcel shelf. It has nice Pioneer speakers in it and I noticed the shelf itself was lifted up at about a 30 degree angle.

It is actually a hollow box, with a tilted top, that houses the speakers. It provides a sealed box for the speakers, while preserving the metal below the parcel shelf. A real neat idea and very cleanly designed and constructed. I will try and get some pictures of it when I get a chance.

But the person that created it did a good job, they used nice black vinyl all over it, so it is not like you can see the box when looking in the rear window. It sticks up about 4".
