SOT: Eaton Supercharger questions

I bought a used eaton supercharger. While it is generally in good shape there is some paint chiping off the compressor screws themselves (on the ends). Is it a huge problem? Would one worry about a little chip getting traped as a valve closed and compromise sealing or promote detonation?

Also does anyone know where I can get oil fill level and grade info (website dosen't go into detail).

Thanks in advance,

Jonathan T.

A little chip getting into the combustion chamber can cause serious damage. Hell, even a little dust can trash your motor, that is why there is an air filter.

http://www.magnusonproducts.com/ is the consumer source for eaton parts and 'official' rebuilds.

Some stuff from a favorite site:

A couple of years ago I was able to meet T.O.O. when he came up to NJ. He was displaying one of his eatons at the time. Interesting mods he had done. The mini's charger seen above is very similar to the M45 I had seen.
