a)YOU ONLY NEED TO PUT ON A CAT FOR VISUAL INSPECTION.

b)REMOVING THE ENTIRE EGR SYSTEM AND ELECTRO-MECHANICAL VALVES AND SHIT IS LEGAL. (THIS MEANS SAY GOODBYE TO THAT PIECE O' SHIT CAST IRON MANIFOLD)

P.S. - (my '76 was sold in LA, CALIFORNIA and has NEVER had a thermal reactor). Maybe you guys just need to go to a different smog technician.

As far as a '76 2002 being sold new in CA without a reactor, that's the first I've ever heard of it. All the inspection reference diagrams show two versions, CA and 49-state. You're lucky. Does your smog tech have a brother in the business in the Sacramento area!! 8-)
