what gasket sealant do you guys reccomend? oil pan.....

i am about to put the oil pan back on, but i want to do it once....i have a paper oil pan gasket, what sealant do you guys reccomend? RTV silicone stuff, hylomar, permatex form a gasket.....which one do you like? thanks for the help! -Reid

The one I like the best for the cork oil pan gasket is Mopar Silicone Rubber Adhesive Sealant, P/N 04318025. Available at you local Dodge or Chrysler dealer. Works great and never a leak!

of silicone or hylomar at the places where the block meets the front cover and rear seal housing, in general, silicone is a no no on paper or cork because it promotes separation of the gasket at the bolt holes.
