740 seats?

found some nice 740i seats ....seen a couple nice refits with 6 series seats...was curious if anyone has tried these

I have them (actually the nicer later E38 ones) in my Bavaria but in a 2002? Why? They don't tilt forward so there would be almost no way to get into the rear seat. You need seats from a coupe.

thanks andry.... was not even thinking about the forward tilt issues....have not gone to see these yet and you just saved me a 4 hours of labor day weekend driving ....back on the hunt for me

You can find nice E46 3-series (again make sure it's a coupe) seats on eBay and maybe in some junkyards. Those I think would be the best bet, but you'll have to cut out the seat "pedestal" pieces in the 02 (they're barely welded in anyway) and redo the carpet a little bit because modern seats mount straight to the floor while the 02 ones mounted up high on that thing. I've also seen E36 seats (about the same thing) in 02's. A lot of them look like Recaro seats (or at least close enough) but they're more modern, more comfortable, and probably in better shape.
