On the verge of classic BMW ownership (2000C coupe)

The car is currently in west Texas. I'm in Louisiana, about an hour south-west of New Orleans. I'm not getting too worked up about everything yet. I don't even have the car in my possession yet. At first I was trying to see if I even wanted it. I decided I do. If I can restore it I will, if not I'll pay it forward and part this sucker out so other Bimmers can live.

Oh, just found out the car is an auto, so it's a 2000CA. I wasn't enthused by the news, but my wife immediately went "YAY, an automatic!" so I guess it's staying that way. Heh. There's no hope for this woman and a stickshift. Believe me, I've tried. On the other hand, this Bimmer project is more her idea than mine, so there's that.

The 2000s at my house actually belong to my wife. Ca transmissions are the old style with reverse at the top and park at the bottom when you look at it. I don't know if they can be rebuilt or not. a 2002 automatic will work and if she lets you swap it for a 5 speed, it has more room just like the 02 automatics. We don't actually have a parts car so to speak we have 2 complete 2000s. The one with the Milanos is at the paint shop now. Rubber seals can come from Blunt for everything from the A pillar back.

Just be sitting down when you read the prices for the seals!

Well, bringing this one back from the dead. Got some pictures of the old gal, and, well, she looks a bit too forgone to attempt a restore. :(
