AC system Wha wha what?! PICTURES uploaded

I have just removed (with great care and precision) a complete system from a 1980 320i.

Everything is present inclusive of the lines, coils, fans, switches, nuts & bolts plus mounting brackets etc...

So what you say?

Well I say this package appears to be the same size and basic construction to that of a 2002. The evaporator unit is the smaller compact single blower type. Not like the bigger dual squirrel cage design found on the later E21 models. This baby is petite and should fit into the 02 console.

I'll post a few images in a day or so.

If you want to install AC this is everything you will need except the AC console for the interior.

$100.00+ ship or pick up in SF or Sac.

I don't sell crap and if I wanted AC this would not be for sale as I would keep it.

But what do I know

Interested and looking forward to the Pics. Is the crank pulley included?

Also was is operating and producing cold air prior to your removal?

Do we know for sure that it will fit and operate in a '72 2002.

Thanks

Kamalloy

Crank pulley included.

It was functional in that the system fired the compressor relay and there was a small amount of pressure in the lines, but I can not say the air was cold as it is an old R12 system. I did not charge it or convert the system to the new stuff.

I do not know for sure that it ALL will fit and work properly in a 2002. Sorry. The bracket mount is for an M10 motor and pulley is standard. The cabin evaporator box (looks to fit) measures approx 10" x 9" x 8" and the hard lines are pre bent for the E21 chassis, but you could straighten them out to fit.

The pusher fan spins when 12 volts are applied. Although in my opinion it spins slow. Fast, but not uber fast.

Pics attached.

I will buy the AC package Please advise total cost including freight to 90807. I plan to use PayPal so please indicate Pay Pal address for you.

Thanks

Your zip is for Long Beach, right?

Ok I will box it up and get weights for it all. There will most likely be two boxes so the heavy stuff won't damage the thin hollow items during ship.

Email me at conkitchen@aol.com with your contact information, ship to address and I'll send you the PP account info through a request for payment.

Thanks

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
