  1. Thanks. I already purchased them from another member.
  2. Looking for a return pipe in good shape. BMW wants crazy money for a new one. Thanks.
  3. Wanted - Looking for the two injector pump belt covers for a 74 tii. Don't have to be perfect but just in decent shape for decent price. Thanks.
  4. Looking to replace a Borbet center cap H15716717 in silver. I can replace the center logo with the one I have. Just need one but would consider a pair. Thanks.
  5. No spacer. I am now convinced I have stock calipers with aftermarket drilled rotors. The rotors are the stock 13mm thickness.
  6. Not sure about the cause. Could have been that way for decades and may have been good for decades more. Sometimes it is better not to look but now I can't un-see it. I'm just investing the $50 for peace of mind.
  7. New development. I pulled the rotor and cleaned it up with the idea that the seal might be OK and I could save the time ordering new ones (I know, that is soooo wrong). It turns out the 50 year old bug bit and the inner bearing race has a pit in it. It runs smooth but I just will not put it back that way. So, I am going to order a new bearing kit (that comes with a new seal) and do it right. As a retired mechanical engineer who is turning himself into a retirement mechanic, I can't tell you how much I appreciate this forum. You guys are the best.
  8. OK. I was trying not to reorder the seals, wait and pay crazy shipping. Ugh. Are the spacers a performance upgrade. I have a feeling the PO was a rally guy. It has lots or rally-type upgrades (including a Metro Mechanics rally motor).
  9. All, I have the brakes apart. Yes, there is a thin spacer. Is that a stock item? Pistons are definitely 40mm and in decent shape. I am going to do a rebuild and should be good to go. Thanks for everyone's input. New question: I think I should repack the bearings as long as I am in there. I did not buy a new inside bearing seal. Do I need to? is there a "safe" way to remove the existing one without damaging it?
  10. All, Thanks again for your help. The drilled rotors measure out at 256MM diameter and 13MM thick. The mounting ears are 3.5 inches. Stock for a Tii apparently. I don't want to pull the calipers to measure the pistons until I am ready to do the job but am going to assume at this point that my calipers are original. Attached are a couple more pictures for those who requested better views. As another thought, the flexible brake lines are stainless mesh (obviously not stock) but pretty old. Do they go bad often enough for me to consider replacing them while I am in there? I don't want to spend for no reason but always want things right. Any thoughts/experiences are appreciated.
  11. Apologies to all. They are drilled not vented. I will take the group advice, pull the wheel again and take some measurements. It is possible that the rotors were bad at some point and were replaced with aftermarket drilled ones. The calipers are possibly original but I will measure the pistons.
  12. Don't know what is original but I will start researching what is there. I believe the car had a pretty thorough restoration in the early 2002's where many upgrades were done (moved battery to the back, strut braces front and rear, brake upgrades, MSD ignition, Bilstiens, larger radiator, etc.).
  13. Thanks. I have looked for other markings but cannot readily see any. One would think there would be a part number stamped somewhere. Any help is appreciated.
  14. Forum members, The front brakes on my recently purchased 74 Tii are dragging slightly. Pads and rotors look fine. The car has been sitting a long time so I believe it is time for a caliper rebuild. The problem is, I do not think the calipers are stock. The rotors are vented. The car has had lots of "typical" upgrades over the years and I am wondering whether they could be 320i calipers and rotors. I want to buy the right rebuilt kit before pulling them off. The stamping on the outboard housing is "71G" and the pads are marked "M4" (see pics). Can anyone help me identify what I have? Thanks.
  15. Interesting. I have not done a ton of investigation on mine but I will eventually. If I can't find a tii block, I will rebuild what I have. I plan on driving it hard anyway!
  16. Looking for a long lost block from my Sahara 1974 tii 2782583. It was replaced with a Metric Mechanic long block back in the early 2000's. I am probably looking at a rebuild so I thought I would take a chance that someone is sitting on my original. Thanks in advance for checking!
  17. Here is the finished product. The plastic fan press fits on the shaft with enough friction to not have to use glue. Overall, I am happy with it.
  18. Here is a side by side. The metal ones are really hard to get off the motor shaft without damaging the center bushing. Mine was bonded on by the PO so it was a non starter. I kind like the clear plastic one better...
  19. This is a warning to all 2002FAQ users. I was (and unfortunately still am) looking for a heater fan motor. I received responses and followed up with a person that goes by Dionk on this site and and uses email soulmetricorp@gmail.com. PM's information to each other he agreed to sell me a motor for $70. I used VENMO to send the money to Bradley Stacey @ RadBrad27. When no motor showed up, I reached out through all sources and have received no replies. Bradley Stacey just blocked me on VENMO. ALL USERS BEWARE! This guy totally ripped me off and from the string on Venmo he is selling (or stealing from) others. Tough lesson for me but I will move on.
  20. Well, this is all I have. No markings that I can see.
  21. Thanks. I did but could not find any markings. I'll try again tomorrow.
  22. Sir, I am in need of a set of suction valve o-rings. I would like two sets (8 total) if you still have some. Please let me know. Jeff
  23. No idea what kind of distributor I'm dealing with. I took a picture of the only markings on the thing. Recognize it?
  24. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I will poke around on the distributor a little more and see if I can find a model or serial number.
