  1. Ya no kidding. Ill try the bread method tomorrow, before resorting to a hammer and socket
  2. Where? In the first pic it doesnt look like a bearing. Looks like solid metal
  3. I see no rolled bearing And I had one but it doesn't even fit their sticks out too far
  4. Is this correct? my pilot bearing was just this felt washer. Its no longer available to purchase., what can i replace it with?
  5. The head is stamped "69" with "121" it has a 32/36 on it. The clutch plate i bought 200mm is smaller than the 215 old one by a hair. I have 4 bolts on my guibo
  6. My flywheel has 8 bolts... r u telling me this 200mm clutch disk i ordered cuz i thought i had a 1600 engine is wrong? And i need a 215 or 228mm?
  7. I have a 1976 2002 engine block installed. I found out today look at previous posts its stamped 2744852
  8. Thanks ill dremel it then The 5 speed is from 1984 318i. Will i need to adjust driveline length?
  9. I have a 71 1600-2 am running 32/36 on 4.11 gears with a newer engine block from a 76. I have a 318i 1984 5 speed available. I was wondering if i need to shorten the driveline, or what modifications do i need for it?
  10. I have a 32/36, i was wondering if the intake is good to use with a 38/38 or if i have to machine it to be bigger? I think I have a 5 speed in town i could buy. Just an electronic speedo
  11. Looks like im stuck with my 4 speed as i have 200mm. Could i redo the cam to 284? What would that do?
  12. I just redid my fly wheel in Pressure plate if I put a 1984 318Is 5speed in will it work with those new pressure plates?200mm
  13. So having 4.11 with a 2002 motor sounds more fun than a 2002 motor with the other smaller diffs.
  14. I guess they installed newer 2002 stuff because this is whats on the body
  15. Full number 2744842 When i spin one tire the other one spins the opposite direction. Lots of crude on the underside of the car. Theres one picture has some numbers i took from the diff. HH 1201 5510 I seen in the other thread this could be a later model diff So if i have a 3.91 diff what cam could i add with this (new?) 2002 Engine
  16. Yup! When it did drive it did lurch forward on take off hard... good 2 know i got lsd
  17. Full number 2744842 When i spin one tire the other one spins the opposite direction. Lots of crude on the underside of the car. Theres one picture has some numbers i took from the diff. HH 1201 5510 The rust on the driver side is the worst. I have extra fiberglas s so thats my temp solution for a few years until i get into install trailing arm bushing that i have waayy later on. Just trying to get the front side done first. So if i have a 3.91 diff what cam could i add with this (new?) 2002 Engine
  18. The only numbers i found on the head was 121 no ti. And another on the engine all i found was 2744xxxx I think i have lsd installed. Can i switch to 3.91 gears and keep my lsd? I should be clear, my goal here is to increase low to mid hp. I would like to also have a 5 speed for longer journey at 65-70mph
  19. Its not rusted that bad! Theres surface rust throughout. But no critcal components have holes or are structural compromised. Its only the floorboards. Ah ok its 3.91 for highway speeds. What diff gearing do i need for a 292? Can i use a 292 in a 3.91? Can i use the stock 4.1 with a 292?
  20. Hi! This car has been sitting for a decade, and was dumped onto me for surprise, a very low price. The seller just knew it was a money pit/kinda a rust pit with a good bit of bondo. So far with a lot of amusement and frustration I've managed to clean out the car, resurfaced flywheel/pressure plate got a new clutch disk (200mm!) And will be replacing the freeze plugs next before i can fix the exhaust gaskets, then it might run correctly. I had a rusted water pump, doesn't leave much confidence. I figure Ill just have to rebuild the whole engine at some point. Which leads me to my question to you all. I want a 5 speed transmission, 292 gears, ireland can make any sizd. 38/38 carbs...Maybe 15inch wheels. I installed eibach springs and Konis so the 15s would hug nice. Anyways, i hear i need 4.55 gears in the back for a 292. Is this what i do? Where do i find these gears to replace it with? Or do they just get remachined or something? I'm looking to add power at the low end and then let the 5 speed keep the rpms low for the high speeds cuz of the 4.55 gears. Does this work? Please show me the way!
