  1. I can appreciate that diggi. I never stop doing things to my car. I have belstien shocks front and back with IE front sway bar and original rear sway bar.  I’m waiting on rear trailing arm bushings from Germany. I put the IE inserts into subframe bushings. Only thing left is change the springs.

I put an aluminum fly wheel in as well. I hope i like it.

do  you know if anyone makes a strut brace for the NK?

  2. That’s great that you are doing this!I would jump on board but bad timing right now. Down the road I may have to look you up for these. I have all the original Green ones in my tilux. I don’t think they need replacing even though they are slightly shorter than what the specs outline. After 50 years its only expected they would be a little shorter.

i would have to say the hardness of the steel determines the difference in the 3 colours. Makes sense to me. Softer the steel the more give it will have.

  3. This all started with a simple gearbox swap out and now I’m in too deep. So far I’ve had to shorten the select lever as then 72 gearbox has a longer throw then the 66 gearbox. Discovered failure in the Ujoint. Now I see that I have a crack in the subframe. I’ve attached some images and was looking for some opinions on how i should proceed. My thoughts are to order the reinforcement plates through Ireland and have them welded on before I Por15

i took a wire brush to the area in question.786A4328-CF36-4E62-8A0B-6BF56731A581.jpeg

    any thoughts?

  4. You were correct 02! What I was seeing was the cap of the U joint breaking apart. I Picked up a 12 ton shop press yesterday and took it apart. For $130 it will pay for its self after a few uses.

I have to say. Removing those needle bearings was not easy. Even with the press.’

  5. I am in need of a replacement early style half shaft for my 2000tilux. I would be happy to keep it original but If anyone has a set of 2002 half shafts I am ready to do that as well. From what i understand the 2002 half shafts are compatible.

Here is a pic of the one that i discovered with bits of metal breaking away at the joints.  Can’t believe the metal is breaking off the way it is and why?

    thank you
