  1. I have a 1974 2002 with a crack in the head. The head currently on the car is a 68 TI 121. Looks like my pistons are dome type. The head I am looking at is a rebuilt E21. Not sure if it will fit here is a picture of my pistons.
  2. Just found a crack in my 68 TI 121 head that is on my 74 lower. My car is a 74. Not sure when they replaced the head. I live in San Diego. I would gladly buy it and come get it. Do you know if it will fit my lower? $450 seems reasonable. I’ll do a little research and see if it will fit. Here is a picture of my pistons. I posted a message about the compatibility on this forum.

  7. I have a missing bolt from my right engine mount bracket. Does anyone know the size of the bolt? This begs another question... In general, is there a set of different bolts that one should keep on hand for these types of emergencies? Where is everyone’s go to place for hardware? I would like to stick to BMW or at least a close approximation.

  10. What is it’s weight? If you can box it, maybe I can have a shipping company pick it up? Is it from a 1974? How long have to had it out?
  11. Yes it does have A/C but it doesn’t work. I don’t think it has work in a while. I live in San Diego so I really don’t need it anyway.
  12. Thanks that is good advice. It’s a Weber 32/36. The idle was easy to adjust but I would like to tune it properly. Do you know of a good resource?
  13. How much are you asking for it? How many miles are on it? Why did you remove it?
  14. Thanks for all the responses. I just joined this site. What a great resource! It shifts firm but the idle is definitely to high. Is there a good resource for the 2 barrel carb adjustment? I just got the car so I am working in triage mode to take care of the big items first. I have some disks and pads coming right now for the brakes. I’m thinking about buying a second tranny rebuilding it and having it ready.
  15. Level was correct. Fluid was pink and didn’t smell. Still good advice. I’ll service it before tackling a rebuild.
  16. Just got a 1974 2002. I got the automatic for my wife. I really wanted the manual. The transmission shifts hard and when warm going from neutral to A (drive) screeches the tires. Their is also a very slow leak coming from the transmission at the seal where it contacts the motor. Not sure if I need to rebuild it, buy a rebuilt transmission, or what. Any advice would be highly appreciated. Also, where can I get a rebuild. Would a manual conversion be cheaper?
