  1. All great points above, for working long periods on the car i place the front Jack stands on the bolts that hold on the front control arms… Same bolts as it shows using the lifting beam on.

Not a fan a placing the rubber on the jackstands on those two beams like that…Those need to be cradled if you use those, where it can’t be pushed sideways off.

On the rear, I usually put the jack a little forward of where you show your yellow square…where it’s on the crossbeam going from side-by-side…

      onward thur the fog…Barney

They look comfy Barney, did you use the OEM style pads or did you use modern foam, just wondering how nice they are to sit in?

The car had been off the road for over 25 years so the seats were in good shape for their age, we added a layer of 1/2 foam to all sides to fluff / fill them

    up…

cleaned up the transmission today, starting to get it ready.

Goal is fixing it up mechanicly first than get the body work done eventually. First floor and nose. Of course some areas needs attention immediatly in this car.  Restored ones are 45k-55k usd over here. I would want a drievers condition 2002 for myself but also value of the car is important.

It is a rare car over here does not come up for sale everyday this could be a oppotunity or may be not. To be honost I am looking at it as an asset too even if I may not be able to fix body work right away, because of hiper inflation in the coutry I keep the car as some kind of an asset.

For the conditions you describe in turkey if gotten at a fair price in your market/country it’s a perfect car that’s easy to maintain and will probably hold its value as a basic car.

too many of the above answers reflect your being in the United States… The Turkish people are known for their metal work so rust repair would seem to be very straight forward there…

  5. Took the last week are so off from working on the Baur, been getting our other cars ready to drive…

put the four half shafts ends  back together yesterday…first one took over an hour to get all six ball bearings captured… the second and third ones no more than 5 to 10 minutes and number four was another 45 minutes… it’s right up there with the heater box as far as being a pain in the ass.
