Just some pics to document that Tesoro made it to blasting yesterday!
It was raining on Sunday (I thought it never rains in Southern California!?) and we didn't want to get any moisture on Tesoro for the delivery as his nasty surface rust was all treated! So the rain almost ruined our schedule! But we got a break on Monday and off to blasting he went with no rain in sight! So lucky to get him there and on schedule! Here are some pics!
Funny how he looks with skates on!

Got the greatest news that Tesoro is finally getting mediablasted! He had been waiting in line FOREVER!! But now that we got the ball rolling, my heart is racing and painting will be next!
Paint should be completed no later than early FEBRUARY/MARCH! So watch for pics!
I haven't heard from the Tow Truck company where I served papers to as of yet.... but something tells me that they may contact me hours before the Court Date on JANUARY 9th to settle. I will keep you all updated with that too!
I went to Pick and Pull (in the rain!) with Jan Echeverri, Daniel Echeverri, and Mr. Elefant Supply himself!. I was having waaaaay too much fun grabbing a few goodies out of an E28 for Tesoro! Bet you can't guess what I got from pick n' pull!

Tesoro is also in the process of getting heart transplant... First you see it... now you don't!
I actually "test drove" 3 other 02s before deciding which "heart" would be the best fit. There was the 32/36, the 38/38, and the fuel injected tii engine.
Tesoro originally had a 32/36 Weber when I bought him... but everything about his original set up was "tiresome"... The performance wasn't there. But it wasn't just the performance either... as mentioned in the earlier blogs, the whole engine and drivetrain needed some major TLC. And it's gonna get it! The plan is to upgrade to a 38/38 Weber with some very special goodies to go along with it.
Tesoro will be my daily driver. So with the new engine that I plan to have in it, and everything else that will go along with it... I'm hoping Tesoro will last another 40+ years!
you can see the Fjord peeking out of the engine bay in this one...

First off... Today is TESORO's birthday! Happy Birthday my baby! Miss you!
Regarding the accident... I've been talking with an attorney, and we're going to take the Tow truck company to small claims court. Their insurance company is totally "stalling" saying they are "waiting for their adjuster to go out and take pics of the tow truck" that hit me.. "in case there is any damage to their tow truck"... REALLY?!!? You don't think that tow truck already has hella scratches on it's hitch from previous tows? Come on... who do you think you are bullshitting! So... I'm filing papers to court tomorrow and suing. I hate to be the litigious kind... but how long ago was this accident? And why haven't they moved on it to provide me a settlement?
    To be continued...

I flew down to LA to go over the body and paint with the mechanic who will be the project manager for Tesoro's restoration. I'll be introducing you to this dedicated, super meticulous mechanic who is known for his attention to detail in another blog.... but back to Tesoro...
He looks so sad! It literally looks like he has a black eye! But I kissed him goodbye and he goes off to paint for the next few months! He's gonna look gorgeous when he's done!

Update! Tesoro is off to the body shop! I miss him already!
Claims adjuster is going to give me a lowball estimate I'm sure... but once they realize EXACTLY how much this damage is from a professional body shop... I'm sure the negotiations will begin... Love you Tesoro!!!!!
Scott Estes said it best under the comments on my FB...

Engine's still smoking on deceleration... but I figure I will fix it soon... !
I started to buy some cool new things... like new round lights as the ones on Tesoro burned out the lenses cause I think the previous owner had some high wattage bulbs or something. I also bought a pristine 2000ti lux steering wheel from my friend in Germany who is the biggest BMW German Collector out there! He's NOT cheap fellas! So don't even go there! ;-)
I hunted down a "birth certificate" from BMW. Come to find out... Tesoro was FJORD! Before he was black,,, before he was white... he was Fjord. Such a pretty color... but I have this eye for black cars... About 80% of the cars I have owned have been black or Schwarz. Except for my first Chamonix 02 and my Malaga Bavaria. Funny thing is... I don't eat anything black. No coffee, no cola, no raisins... no CHOCOLATE. I have this weird fear that if I eat anything black... it's going to poison me... and I'll die. ok... moving on...
I also had Tesoro's personalized license place made. I bought Euro turn signals, and started to buy interior stuff. I bought a nice clean set of 635csi seats for the rear that I will reupholster and fit for when I'm ready to do the interior. Now... I just have to start pulling out that darn frigiking AC console and replace it with a non AC console...
    Love shopping for Tesoro... !

OUCH.... This happened to me yesterday on my drive home.... Long story short...
My clutch pedal went out on my as I was coming to the exit of the freeway , so I pulled over and called AAA for a tow. When they came, I was sitting in the passenger side so I could get out of the car so I wouldn't open the door to traffic.. but as the tow guy was backing his flat bed up... he HIT Tesoro with is hitch!
    I was LIVID beyond belief!
Then... AAA driver has the balls to tell me that I pulled forward! When I was like... "My clutch pedal is out! That's the whole reason I called you guys in the first place! Plus you knew that I was sitting in the passenger side cause you saw me as you were backing up!"
So then I had to call CHP and file a report cause this guy was trying to tell me that "He works for a collision co... and they can fix it ... and all this other BS"
Anyways... I think I'm just hurting more than Tesoro..... Tesoro will get fixed, AAA will have to pay dearly though! I'm just hoping no nose damage and just grills. !!!!

Sometime in February 2014 I was having some really greasy chinese food in SF... I never have greasy chinese food. Ever. But I had reluctantly gone to this restaurant to meet my sister for lunch. After a few bites... I wait til my sister is done, and we get our fortune cookies. Mine reads...."Something on four wheels will soon be a fun investment for you." And I start to giggle at the thought of owning another 02.
For those that don't know me... I used to own 02s back in the day... we're talking... waaaay back like in 1994! My first 02 was a 1972 and I was second owner of the car. It was a beautiful Chamonix that I bought from a church goer/missionary of some sort that he had shipped back and forth from Africa to the US. He took pretty good care of it... but I took better care of it once I owned it. I used to autocross it at the GGC events and took it on rally rides and tracked it on race courses at Laguna, Infineon, Thunderhill... etc. I was bitten by the 02 bug and my obsession took me further by putting in a modified engine in the car, and then buying a bunch of other BMWs.... a few E30's, an E30M3, an E30conv, an E36M3, a Bavaria and 2 other short owned 02s (roundies of course!)
Then life got to the best of me.. I grew up a little ... bought my first house when I was 21 and enjoyed traveling more. Then gas started to get expensive and my BMW hobby was also getting more expensive from all the extra accessories I was buying.. like wheels, suspension, brakes, etc... So I had to sell my toys and give up all of them. But during this time... I met a lot of wonderful 02 enthusiasts around the states and the "02princess" moniker was given to me by Michel Potheau. Member # 2 in the BMWCCA.
So back to the fortune cookie.... After a few giggles... I decided... why the hell not!?
At this point, I just recently purchased a new breed of car... A Mercedes Benz 2014 C350 coupe AMG. I wanted to try another brand of car as I have always been BMW loyal... and I felt that the Benz suited me a lot better than the 4series BMW or even the 1 series! (Don't H8!)
Anyways, I got the obsession t back and started trolling again on the FAQ and even started a Facebook page. You can follow me as: OtwoprincessLisa . I saw that the Brisbane Bay Area swap meet was in May, so I went.
Low and Behold... there appeared a mirage... (from Letigre!) In front of my peepers was this shiny black solid 02 for sale! A roundie nontheless! For under 5digits? I had to take a looksee...
Good thing I had one of my 02 mechanic friends with me to inspect the car. Everything seemed pretty solid, and there were some surface rust areas, mechanically, it needed some love as it was smokey.. but I felt like, this was the one! I bought the car a couple of days later... and drove it home....

So this gallery pic of me washing Tesoro a few months after I bought him.
I had "him" (yes, it's a HIM!) inspected by my guys at Motorspeed West in Santa Clara. I totally love these guys. They are honest mechanics who go the extra mile for you. Their service is impeccable and they do their job well. I have taken ALL my cars to these guys and would not go to any other. Read their YELP reviews. You will not be disappointed with their work.
Tesoro had a full tune up, inspection, etc., after I bought him. It was also great that I had most of the history papers of the car from the previous owners. Tesoro had a lot of things that needed immediate attention. For one thing... THE SMOKE. Engine valves needed work. The heater box needed work. And let's not talk about the interior... Don't be fooled! Tesoro photographs well! And he was sooo dirty inside the engine and out! I knew when I bought Tesoro that I would give him the TLC that he needed to become the full potential gorgeous street car that I wanted him to be...
Tesoro would be my keeper 02. And I think you know what that means... No matter at what cost or however long it will take me to restore Tesoro... I will do it! I think there will be a lot more car washing days ahead of me, especially for a black car!

Icon Display at the BMWCCA Foundation. What a great visit to the BMW Car Club of America Foundation in South Carolina! Check it out if you are close or passing through! They have a wonderful exhibition of some vintage “icons”on display for the 50th anniversary of the 2002! Of course the first thing I do when I see TESORO is detail him up! ?‍♀️?

Closing gala for The BMWCCA Foundation museum for the 50th Anniversary of the 2002s was a success! Great to have met so many new faces and thank you for including TESORO in this incredible honor!

Time to bring Tesoro home! ☺️
