  5. Thanks for the tips. I found a step by step on the rear window, now looking for one on the vent windows.
  6. Figured as much. I sripped the side view mirrors and the grilles they were scuffed but I took some polish and 0000 steel wool to them to minimize. Not perfect, but that wasn't the goal. I reckon the rear window is a PITA.
  7. When the car was restored in the 90's it got the full blackout treatment (style of the day I suppose) and all of the "chrome" bits are in pretty to very good condition. I'm not looking for perfection, just not black. Do you reckon this could managed without removal from the car?
  8. Yea, that's why I put it as "chrome". I'm mainly trying to gauge if I can accomplish that without removing the trim from the car.
  9. I'm referring to the "chrome" bits around the vent window, along the bottom of the door roll down windows, and bottom of the rear side window. They 've all been painted black - E30 style. I was able to chip off some and looks like there's a llayer of primer under as well.
  10. The window trim on my car was painted black by a previous owner and I've been wanting to get it back to the chrome look. Anyone have any recommendations on removing the paint without taking all that trim off? Or is it easy enough to get those bits off the car to strip them down? Thanks for any tips.
  11. It's close but looks more like 58mm to me via tape measure.

  14. Sent you a PM regarding the chrome trim around the windows
  15. Killer tip. Thanks. And makes sense to have a backup tach, etc. I tend not to use FB but the wife does. Reckon you can send a link to the ad?
  16. Beauty. I really want to get my window chrome back. Dude who did a restoration on it way back when blacked out all the trim, grille and bumpers. Previous owner did a bunch of work to get the bumpers and other trim back to normal. But the windows still need to be done.
  17. I've got a 73 with the Korman Stage 2 engine (292 cam + Dual Weber 40s) and Stahl header that was built during restoration by a previous owner in the late 90's. The dude I bought the car from had a smallish glass pack in the middle of the system and a straight pipe out the back, not sure of the diameter of the pipes. It was insanely loud. Before I got a chance to figure out a replacement for it 2 of the welds cracked and I got a local exhaust shop put a quick fix on there that did quiet it down some but is still very loud and drones badly on the highway. He used a 30 inch glass pack in the front and some 6 inch round muffler in the back. Not sure what size pipes, or of the brands of the mufflers. I reckon the engine+header setup is not conducive to a quiet exhaust note? Or its just the parts that were on there aren't doing a great job? I'm far less educated on these matters than I likely should be and am looking for some pointers on setting up a decently mellow exhaust for the car if possible. Sourcing stock front and rear mufflers is looking like nearly the cost of some of the stainless systems out there. Whereas the IE stainless and TEP setups are slightly more than the cost of the stock rear muffler but not sure how they would workout. Some of the more custom, Magnaflow, Flowmaster routes mentioned here and in other threads are similar to what are currently on the car. Any input/info mucho appreciated.
  18. Thanks for the leads Rich. I'll poke around. If you don't mind sharing - what'd you pay roughly?
