  1. Has anybody ever had or seen a car, that had red Konis in front and Bilstein Sports in the rear? I heard with 40mm team Andexer lowering springs and Bilsteins, the car is lowered approximately 20mm, and 40mm with Konis. In consequence it would be a little lower in front... Any experiences or opinions are greatly appreciated!
  2. WOW! I'm speechless...very nice work! Are you allowed to drive with those Munich plates?
  3. Hey guys, I know it's been a long time since my last post, but I picked up my donor 318is yesterday and felt it was time for a little update. It will be hard to part it, as the 70 mile drive home has been a lot of fun
  4. i will try and get something of a thread going here soon. That truck is awesome!!!!!!!!! whats the story behind it? Do you fabricate your own motor mounts? No i am souring them from user JakeB (classicdaily.net) he's a great guy to deal with and extremely knowledgeable on swaps Was the touring ever sold in the US back then? nope im lucky to have stumbled on one just imported (thanks again Jan!) I'm looking forwards to following your progress! The story behind it is, that my Dad came to me and said he wants a pickup from the 50's with the premise that it has to have a V8 from the factory. On our search we stumbled across this Studebaker truck on eBay, I contacted the seller, we agreed on a price and the next day it was ours It was a very spontaneous purchase and a bit risky (some call it silly ), because we haven't seen it in person, but we were lucky and it is just as described. It originally comes from Joplin Missouri, was picked up there, shipped to New York, from New York to Rotterdam and from Rotterdam to Munich! It might be the easiest and fastest way to go! I've already contacted him for measurements of his mounts, so that I can fabricate them myself... And one with a slim kidney (don't know how "Niere" is called ) to boot, congratulations!
  5. Hey, I have used cunifer brake lines for some of my projects...so far no problems, and easy to work with. Don't know if there are differences in quality though! Heist: You're doing a great job man!! May I ask what you are studying, that you have so much time to spend working on your car? keep up the great work!
  6. I really hope you are going to start your own project thread, so that we all can see more pictures of that beauty! I love it that you obtain the look, as it has developed over the last 40+ years! That's what we want to do with our truck as well. Do you fabricate your own motor mounts? Was the touring ever sold in the US back then?
  7. Thank you Andrew, I'll try to keep it updated, even though I don't know if the E12 is tolerated here on the 02 forum Yes it's a tow hitch, and it's one of the first things that has to go, together with the A/C and the rims and tires... The rust on the touring is worse, but fortunatlely, there are parts available for it! Compared to the touring, the 528i is "rustfree"
  8. Thanks for the welcome Marshall and Brandon! I'd like to see some pics of your progress, is there any thread where I can follow your build? Seems like my touring will have to wait a little longer I picked up a 1981 E12 528i yesterday, which needs a little TLC first. Want to use it as my daily driver when done. [/img] I need to get a build thread going.... Great looking E12! we have one here at BluntTech with a 6.0 v8 swaped in Yes indeed what have you done so far? Thank you, when I saw it, I just had to buy it, especially for the price... Wow what a great combination it must be incredibly fast! http://blunttechclassic.com is this your site?

  10. Hi all, as you can read in the subject line, I'm new to this forum and looking forward to learning from you guys. I'm a 21 year old student from Germany, living 30 miles south of Munich! As my Dad is an auto mechanic with his own shop, I'm experienced in repairing cars and getting my hands dirty... Our first project is a 1966 Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible, which my Dad brought to Germany in 1989 and which was registered for the first time in October of last year, so even though it is not completely finished, I'm already planning the new project! (pic of the Olds attached as well) Now it comes to the interesting part of my story for you 2002 guys The project is a 1971 2000 touring my Dad bought as his first car in 1980 he's had about 35 other BMW's ever since, lots of 2002s, E3s, E12s (528i), but he only kept one E3 and the touring, which he gave to me as a present for my 18th birthday! I'll try and attach a picture of how it looks right now, the engine is dismantled, and the whole front clip had to be cut out due to bad rust issues...good thing is, I do already have all the new parts. I want to use it as a semi-daily driver for nice das when it's finished, so I'm going to put a M42 engine in it, together with a 5-speed. I'm still searching for a donor 318is E30, they are getting harder and harder to find here and if I find one it's way out of my budget and almost too good to part out. Well, that's about it, I'll try to keep this thread updated, whenever time allows it. Sorry for the long reading and thanks for your interest, I hope my English isn't too bad Please feel free to post whatever you think about the project... Thanks, Dan [/img]
