I have a chamonix 1600 Im not sure if its really "for this crowd" but i dont really have space in my house, or in my life for this car anymore PICS https://imgur.com/a/SKchh2Y VIDEOS of car starting at bottom of pics page 2.0 from an 02 in it (I have the original 1.6 in a wooden crate, unknown condition) Replica turbo flares Rear sidemarker delete paint about 6 - 7 years ago headrestless seats black interior drivers seat has tears, cracked not good dashboard eta beta lucy wheels ( i have 8 origninal steelies and 4 hubcaps) air ride suspension (this is the part i think most here will flinch at) 5 gallon tank in trunk skinny us speck euro looking bumpers, front is removed, but i still have it duckbill foam spoiler (i dont remember which brand) never installed on this car air cooler that was color matched to car 4 speed manual, grinds 1st gear from what i remember ST sway bar front installed, rear swaybar not installed (i do have it somewhere) ooh, another thing you guys might not like, i have i think most of the original belt line trim, but whats on the car is stick on trim (though it looks reeeeealy good) interesting vintage steering wheel, i have the original somewhere too basically no rust that i have ever seen, car was supposedly an AZ and Cali car its whole life unknown miles I havent driven it in over 4 years, she has been sitting in the garage Price is definitely or best offer. I can take more current pics, and pics of more angles. she looks basically the same, just very dusty, and she has a front lip spoiler now.

Agreed, luckily these were the seats that came with the car. There isnt even holes for headrests on these. I had no idea they existed, haha. -

Shes a 69 1600 that the PO put a 2.0 into. Original 4 speed. The suspension is custom air-ride done by Airbagit who is local to me. with an app that allows me to control the bags from my phone. Wheels are Eta Beta Lucy's 15x7 et13 Full Poly bushings in the front, will be full poly in the rear ST sways Its got a weber 32/36 i think dashCap with iphone5 dock moulded in. BMW Premium e28 speakers in the rear deck Thermador car cooler (functioning) paint matched. Ill have to do a whole post about the progress of the car. Im trying to get some blogs to feature it. -

tires and wheels What 1600 wheels and bags or coil overs?

please sell your 1600 before you ruin it and buy an e30 to slam. If you're buying coilovers for it for looks, you are buying them for all the wrong reasons. Even dropped 2 inches the 2002 loses a lot of it's drivability. Honestly I wouldn't care and would even suggest ways to get the stance you want if it were any other car, such as an e30, e36, or anything that isn't as scarce as a 1600. You're better off buying something that is more commonly "slammed" like an e30 or e36; a lot more options for cheap coilovers, and you won't upset 75% of the 2002 community while you are at it. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind a "low" car, and having a tight gap between fender and wheel is great, but anything lower than 2" is a car that should not be driven, and if it is not being driven, it isn't being used for the right purpose. lol its people like you that kept me from buying a 2002 for sooo long. I finally said fuck it and bought a great 69 1600. I immediately did the airbags after purchase and will probably sully the good name of the 1600 quite a bit in the coming year. haha. Once I get the car back from paint, ill put pics up for all the purists to cry over. The e28 guys said the same b.s. when i slammed my 535is and turned it into a german cop car. and some e21 purists really dont like either of my e21's. But to me, they wereare all the perfect height with just the right amount of mods. In fact, the reason i got rid of my canada spec e34 540i/6 was because getting that car to my height standards would have been a pretty difficult achievement. -

Including the fab, not including labor costs (i installed everything myself) i spent around $2000 (not including new bushings, alternator, welding services, pipe cutter, grommets, etc) . But thats for an analog control system, add another 7-900 for a smart controller(plus a sensor at each corner to tell the computer the height of the car). Install of the bags took me 3 weeks of just nights and weekends. The fronts were pretty simple but the rears required me to cut and weld stuff in the rear. Running the air lines is kind of a pain too as there isnt very many places to hide air lines and wires. Then on the interior i had to mount two gauges and 4 switches. each gauge takes two air lines. So inside you are running a bundle of wires for the 4 switches (3 wires per switch) and four 1/4" air lines to the gauges. You also have to uprate your alternator (i installed a 85 amp alt) and possibly get a second battery (something im doing soon) Then you have to find a space in the trunk for a 5 gallon tank, a compressor and the valves. Its much more complicated than installing coilovers. -
