  1. The way its sitting in the last pic the front can go up about another inch or down about 2.5 or so. Only did a quick cruise around the block so can't really give a lot of feed back yet.
  2. Here is my build, just used the rabbit struts... http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,371680/
  3. So got the front end done and the rear springs just cut until my new shocks/springs get here. Now just need to figure out how Im going to stuff some 16's under there!
  4. Finished up my Coil overs today, had to mod a few things with the kit but nothing to bad. Also ran a piece of rubber hose at the bottom of the strut to help keep it center and hopefully keep it from making any noise. and finally some lowness lol
  5. So I decided to cut 2in out of the strut tube and space up the shock. One thing I didn't like was how the shock didn't center with the stock gland nut. I took one of the centering spacers that came with the Rabbit KYB shocks and turned it down to fit in the stock strut. Now it stays centered... Sorry for the bad pics and its just mocked up so it will sit down lower...
  6. No I didn't call either one, was looking more for idea on what others did and how low they went, tire size, rim to coil interference etc. I did call Patrick @ Midnight motorsports and he was very cool and let me waste about 25min of his time asking question. The guys at Ireland where cool enough to email me a wire diagram I needed without even asking. Cool to see some shops that still do that! 7. So whats everyone reason for cutting or spacing X amount? Why did you go with 3in spacer? Was it to clear the rim? Get the shock in the correct part of the stroke? Do you need to space it because if you cut the whole 5in out the car wouldn't get off the ground lol I know I should just wait and space the stuff myself but I have free time and want to get my weld on lol
  8. Nice, another question is I get a lot of different answers on how much to cut the strut tube and spacers. Any one have some advice on whats a good number and how you can go with each set up, tire interference etc?
  9. So I just ordered up the ground control coil over kit and some Rabbit struts, my question is what rear shocks are you guys using when you drop the car low? Thanks,Willie
  10. Nice project! if you need any help dialing in the carbs might want to check out what the snowmobile guys have been doing for years on the Yamaha RX1 turbo kits. They have the carbs running really well.
  11. You know I've never been a fan of flares but your car has me thinking.......might have to get my weld on lol nice work
  12. Sub frame finished with all Poly bushings, sway bar ends and steering coupler. Also ordered new ball joints from Blunt and some Rabbit struts, hopefully I can order the ground control coil over kit this week. Also decided to do the oil pan gasket while I was there...
  13. Got the new subframe welded up and painted, along with all the steering parts. Also painted the fender wells. Now I just need to install all the poly bushings and get new ball joints. Going to cut the struts and get it on some coil overs to... My littlest shop rat "helping" me by hiding all my tools when I'm not looking lol
  14. Thanks for the info guys, holding on to the valve cover at the moment but Ill let you know if I get rid of it. Ya I welded up the motor mount already, going to brace it in a few areas.... old mount

  16. Definitely let me know when you guys meet up! So been working on wiring, got much of it sorted out. Only thing it appears that I dont have the correct hazzard switch. Looks like a newer one and it wont plug into my car. So if anyone has one let me know! My car has a broken motor mount, lucky for me the car came with a complete sub frame, motor mount brace and poly bushings. Going to powder coat it and install it soon. Think while its apart i might re gasket my motor, any suggestions on gaskets or where to buy them? Thanks!
  17. Thought it was, I've had a few myself. Have mint st90 in my shop right now. You should call powder vision, http://www.powdervision.com/. Tell them they are already blasted and willie from xtreme motorworks sent ya. See what they charge, they do great work.
  18. I vote for powder coat. More importian question is what frame is on the bike lift!
  19. I am running 16x7 ET25 right now and I can tell you that things are CLOSE. I am pessimistic that ET20 16x8 would clear even under rolled and pulled fenders (mine are both). Any pics? Hows clearance by the strut? Are you running coil overs? I know I just need to get my suspension done and do some measuring but would like to a have a general game plan. Thanks!
  20. Some great looking rides in here. Question for you guys. Just wondering how much more offset you guys are running or can run when going to coil overs? Wanted to go 17's on my 72 but looks like with the wheels I like in a correct offset I would have better luck with some 16's. So Im going pretty low with coil overs and dont mind rolling the fenders, do you think I can fit these 16x8 with 20mm offset? Thanks!
  21. Ok so after a day of messing around, new bulbs, cleaning contacts, cluing stuff together I now have wipers. Turn signals work if I supply power to the relay, so i know all bulbs are working. Weird thing is with key off I can use the turn signal and the light will stay on?
  22. Also after reading some more on here I realized I didnt even have a harzard switch. Dug through my parts and found a switch but it wont plug into my wiring? Will the t/s work with this unplugged?
  23. Thanks for the help, my t/s switch is on the right side. The high beam part switch is broken into many parts, trying to clue it right now. here is a few pics...
  24. Just picked up a 72 and have been trying to track down my no windshield/turn signal problem. Found out the turn signal stalk is zip tied together and came apart in about 4 pieces. Can anyone tell me what years will work so i can track down a replacement one? Thanks,Willie
  25. Anyone no what wheels these are and what they might be worth? Not going to happen right now but want to sell them when I lower the car. Was thinking of these wheels 16x8 20mm, just don't know if I could squeeze them in http://www.nlmotoring.com/PhotoDetails.asp?ShowDESC=N&ProductCode=52168082N
