Saw this on autotrader. No association or knowledge of seller or vehicle. Interesting for $4K?

I'm looking for a parts car to build up a 1976 shell I found in great shape. Anyone know anything about the vehicle on ebay in Columbus Ohio (& any advice as to what it's worth)? Thanks guys.

I'm finally zeroing in on a replacement. I have to admit that I'm going cheap, so I hope you guys responding don't feel your help was in vain. Thanks again. Harold

Hello. I'm relatively new too and have found the guys here very helpful both in advice and helping find parts at reasonable prices. However, I'm been involved with 2002's less than a year, so it sounds like you're way out in front of me! Harold

Hi: I'm curious about what you're looking to get for the stock 4speed trans. I'm hoping I won't need it, but just in case.... Harold

I'll take it. Email sent. Harold

Hey, it's OK since I crawled all over the carcass and determined that it had some of the gear I needed. I'm actually just a little southeast of the VOA auction yard in Bloomfield Township, but work on my bmw over in sterling heights. Giving the engine and transmission the once over is good for me anyway! I'm starting to collect extra interior parts, so the missing interior actually cleaned out a lot of clutter to examine the sheet metal. My 2002 has some soft spots in the floorboards... and of course the spare tire well. Now, if it just had some roundie tail light gaskets.... Harold

Hey, you guys popped my balloon. I had just bought this car at today's auction, and then I run accross your chat... Argh! Actually I'm after the engine trans and differential. Are any of you aware of major internal damage in these components? I have my fingers crossed that I didn't spend $325 on scrap (at least I can use the intake manifold which doesn't look boken). Oh, and the body has the least amount of rust I've ever seen on a midwest car! It has even less rust than my '68 2002 which was brought out from CA (where it was originally sold and driven for over three decades). I guess I'll be posting a very low rust glider on 2002FAQ is a little while.

Have 1) a pair of clean park brake cables, 2) a pair of the thick rubber gaskets for the roundie taillights, or 3) any (vertical) bumper guards/rubber? I'm looking for parts on my '68.

Wow, I'm getting a terrific response to my question (replacement broken odo/replacement Speedo). Thanks to all. I'm sorting through them. I like the idea of repair, but my instrument cluster was damp for years, and is a little gunky.... so while repair makes economic sense, replacement could sure look better. I should have noted that mine is a driver and need to keep spending only to necessary levels. Tough to do with 2002's (i.e., too many neat things to upgrade!).

My odo doesn't work (speedo works so-so)(no pun intended). WTB: functioning speedometer/odometer: Will consider buying someone's entire instrument cluster if within my budget. I have a 1968/1969 stock 2002, manual. Thanks for any help you can pass along.

Is the speedo still available or has it sold? Please email me hsarmstrong at comcast dot com.

Is the panel assembly still available or has it sold? My speedo is funky and I'm after a functioning replacement (and/or the entire instrument cluster). Thanks. Harold

Is the speedo for the 2002 model BMW still available? Please email me at hsarmstrong dot com: I will paypal $$. Also sent separate email. Thanks.

Email sent re front sheet metal.

After Clint finds his piece, I am keen to find just the tire well portion... the bottom of mine is pretty well gone. Let me know what you would want $. Unfortunately, I would need it shipped to MI (argh). I don't want to pirate Clint's post though, so I'll wait until that request is filled. Thanks.

The front sheet metal below my grilles is really eaten up by rust. The fenders are fine, and the metal is good from the bottom of the grilles up. Anyone have an idea of where I could find the metal inside seam with the fenders from the grille down? Or ideas for how to repair? I seem to have missed the boat on the '71 parts out in January. Thanks guys.

While installing my used Personal steering wheel, I managed to break the little plastic ring (in the hub) which retains the horn button, spring, etc. It slides into the center hole (about 54mm). I was hoping to find another used ring before turning to buy a new one at $67. Thanks, Harold (aka, cheap-skate)

Are these gone, or still avialable? Thanks.

Uh, oh, did I miss out on the webber carb manual? Harold
-
Is the brake booster gone? What would shipping be to 48304 (Bloomfield Township, MI) is still available?

Whoops, no emails allowed. Please email me hsarmstrong at comcast.net. Thanks

Wow, a BMW tow hitch. Email sent. Harold
What's the 74 02 Worth for sale in Columbus Ohio?

Schwarz75: I would be very interested in your 76 if/when you go to sell it. I have a 76 model that has been virtually stripped of all small parts... it has the powertrain, suspension, and a relatively good body (very little rust for a midwestern car). A rusty, but complete model would be the ideal mate. I am on a budget, but give me some idea of what you would want for your "parts car". (my email is hsarmstrong at comcast dot com). Thanks a lot. Harold
