    Hi, I am writing this on behalf of my son's 1976 2002. The other day, the 4 speed transmission started sounding like a blender. We took the car in to our trusty(?)mechanic here in Seattle and they quoted us a price of between 3 and 4 thousand dollars. Sebastian is in great shape. Strong engine minimal rust. It would be a shame to sell the car because of this. My questions... Is nearly 4 grand crazy talk for a 4 speed rebuild? Does anyone in the Puget Sound area know of someone who could do a solid rebuild for less? Thanks BMW fanatics. Your help would be greatly appreciated. MIke
