Thank-you BJ! I think you just saved me a trip to Vermillion to look at it.Sur looks nice in the pictures though

Looks nice Harv.We should go take a look

That was great.Thanks Norm!

The same thing happened to my Koni's and I couldn't figure it out.I kept hearing a banging noise every time I hit a bump and thought it was the exhaust system making the noise.New Bilsteins solved that problem.

The cost can add up quickly.I purchased my car(a 71) about 7 years-ago with the paint and engine already done.It had a perfect dash, new Stahl header, all new a-arms etc.I paid $4,500 for it at the time .I'll bet I have $13k in it now. I love the car so it's worth it to me.

That looks like a nice project. If I weren't already considering another one,I'd take a look at this.

Thank-you! I did pull up the floor covering at the drivers side front corner and it looked good. No noticeable pinholes in the floor or near the pedal box.If I go back again (it's a 3 1/2 hour drive),I'll pull-up more of the floor covering and check the other things you mentioned.I'll also ask him to get the engine block #.Apparently the engine has been sitting at a machine shop for several years.

I'll make an offer and go from there. The car merits all the time and $ it will take me to assemble it.

Medina OH.? I'm in Valley City.Have you ever attended the German Autofest?

But how much more is it worth as a full-on project? We all know how much space a completely disassembled car takes-up.That being said,I would like to have it.I could probably find a place to store my very fast but ugly 944 turbo track/street legal car

I'd forgotten about Cavalino! I had a 1978 308 GTS for a bit.I guess I'll add a few more from the past:
Road +Track (I still have a few ssues from the 60's and 70's when the F-1 drivers and team owners would still write articles)!
Autoweek when it was still in the newspaper format.I think I still have the one when Danny Sullivan drove a 911 turbo through the streets of Detroit at 2A.M.He aws an F-1 driver at the time (Toleman?)
Car Craft
Supercar Classics-I still have a few isues
Roundel and Panorama
Car and Driver ( a looong time-ago)

Hemmings Sports and Exotics. I used to read everything Peter Egan wrote. I also subscribed to Classic Motorsports for a few years but I felt their business practices were a bit suspect. They do have some good writers though.

Very nice!

Thank-you. Unfortunately,he's looking for considerably more than 2k or I would have been back there with a trailer by now. I figure it would still cost me 10-15k to finish it to my standards and that's with me doing 95% of the work. I plan to retire in another year or two and it would be a great project.

Ouch! You really know how to hurt a guy. I really miss that "T". My only consolation is that it couldn't have gone to a better home.

Not me ,or I'd buy you a beer. Just don't take me for any more airplane rides through the Rockies!

Thank-you for the response! The car was reportedly prepped by it's owner and the paint appears to be very well done. The only exceptions are a nick on the sunroof when the headliner was installed , and some overspray on a few brackets etc.that weren't removed prior to painting. Also, the painter neglected to paint the spare tire area. The owner claims the paint job cost him $3,400 5 years-ago.In terms of rust, the only areas I could find were just a bit where the battery tray connects to the core support and about a 1/2 inch area at one of the spare tire drain plugs. The car still has the ashpalt based floor insulation in place but it looks great from underneath .Rockers, shock towers floors etc. all look very good.I'll see if I can figure out how to post a pic.I just turned 60 a few days-ago so I'm officially a geezer.Thanks-again
-
Anyone else have an opinion? The color is original. This would be a long-term (expensive) project and I need to buy it for a fair price.Thanks-again

Thank-you! Yes,it's a color I like (Inka).I'm not sure obout it having the original block as that's said to be sitting in a machine shop, but I'm guessing it is. Otherwise, the car is said to be a CA. car and I believe it due to lack of rust along with interior parts that are mostly shot from exposure to the sun. It's a big project!

It happened to me several years-ago and had me stumped. It turned out to be a broken printed circuit trace on the tach mount binnacle. That is probably not your problem however.Good-luck!
-
looked at a nice roundie roller recently. The body appears to be about 99.9% rust-free and the paint is new. It's almost completely disassembled and the parts included are of unknown usefullness (engine in pieces,Tranny questionable etc)It's a major project. Any idea what it might be worth (ballpark)? It would make a nice companion for my 71.Thanks

I have Ireland stage 1's but my front end was still too high for my turbo flared car with 205/15's.I sent a pic to Ireland and he suggested cutting off a coil. The car has a much better stance but it seems a bit more nervous.I still have to double-check my alignment
