  1. Looking for 15 inch wheels for my 72 Tii. Prefer Panasport or other classic style. Getting too hard to find 13 inch sport tires.
  2. thanks! impact driver did the trick. wanted to make sure before abusing it :-)) Mine did not have a nylock nut or locktite. May explain why was torqued so tightly.
  3. Cant seem to get nut on steering wheel off so can troubleshoot my turn indicators. Hasnt been off for a long time. Tried PB Blaster etc. Just wanted to make sure not reverse threaded or something else I had forgotten? Any tricks aside from long cheater bar, not too excited about pounding on steering column..... thanks

  8. replacing a broken dimmer switch and found that previous owner had spliced the switch directly into the harness, removing the connector. would like to put in a new harness-side connector (female, 6 pin) so can use connector on switch (male end, shown in picture) rather than chop into harness again! anyone know a source for a couple of these to mate with one in picture? are they soldered in on the original harnesses? thanks cliff
  9. bummer. carelessly bumped the dimmer stalk squeezing out of my door in a narrow garage :-(( broke the age-old plastic inside. now headlights dont work reliably either! please help! thanks

  17. I bought a 3.0 CS restored by Peter Sliskovich "coupeking" a few years back. The quality was outstanding. He is very honest and a real enthusiast. He takes real pride in the work that comes out of his shop. My current 72 Tii was restored by Peter about 10 years ago- still looks great. It had passed through several other owners, when I phoned he remembered the car and was not hesitant about describing the work they had done. If he has what you are looking for.... you wont regret it. cliff Seattle, WA
  18. I have used this guy four times over past few years. Very reliable and professional. Cliff Seattle, WA

  20. Thanks. Hopefully i can pick a new pump and gasket up at local dealer this am. otherwise i am stuck driving my CJ-7 on a road trip :-( cliff
  21. driving home a short distance today, seemed like warm up regulator was acting up, revs too high, too long. odd. going on 3 h trip to portland tomorrow. after got home and cooled off, checked water level in radiator. NOTHING. i poured in a quart of 50:50 and out came a quart at the junction between the water pump and block. pretty quickly. i pulled off water pump to find looks ok, spin smoothly. i could imagine that one of the bolts was a bit loose. gasket is almost non-existent piece of paper. is there any specific reason that the gasket should blow? i was suprised it could leak so fast from this spot. all hoses are soft and pretty new. no sign of any other leaks. clamps tight, no white smoke, oil clean. havent driven more than a couple miles for last two weeks. luckily there was no sign of overheating. suspect warm up regulator was not activating because no hot water!! thoughts on what else i should check before re-assembling with new gasket? thanks Cliff Seattle, WA
  22. thanks for suggestions. I will work through some of the possibilities on Saturday and give a progress report. cliff
  23. my 72 tii was running great. got home two nights ago, no issues. yesterday ready to go to work, hear (electric) fuel pump come on normally, but doesnt seem to change tone/speed after a couple seconds like it usually does. turns over like crazy but wont start. drove CJ to work :-( Last pm pulled fuel line, great flow, no fires. good spark. put some starter fluid in air cleaner. started right up. after a minute or so, could hear drop in rpm when i assume cold start injector was cutting out (ie seemed normal). drove around block, good power. was low on gas, but not out. thought maybe airlock in line? thinking I had solved problem just gassed it up... this am same thing. didnt have time to try starter fluid, but expect will start again. never appreciated how quiet tii is until i drive the jeep. could it be just the cold start injector is out or plugged? any thoughts? thanks Cliff Seattle WA
