Thanks all for the tips and leads.
I was able to save everything in decent shape excepting, the owner's manual. Most of it is legible and I'm now on the look-out for a good one.

Hello all,
My glovebox filled up with water recently basically heavily damaging the 1600 owners manual I had inside.
Does anyone have an early 1969 1600 manual they could scan or send a digital copy along to me?
The early 69 1600 manual only lists the 1600 on the cover, contains a picture of the dash with the chrome bottom trim, and has a tan cover.
A manual produced later on in 1969 lists the 1600, 2002 and 2002 automatic.
If someone has an extra they would sell, I would be very interested as well. In the meantime, I'll be looking on Ebay, EbayUK, Amazon, etc....
Thank you,
-Jerry

Just recovering from heart surgery in November. I had a mitral valve repaired. Hats off to you for your great effort!

Jim,
I didn't know you were in a hurry for gaskets. The sunroof doesn't leak on the 76 I sold you, does it?
I'll check my stash downstairs where I believe they are situated.

There was a recent thread about someone's dream 02. Well, after reviewing the thread about the collector, I think I have found my dream 02.

My 1600 is chamonix. Has anyone seen a chamonix car with a flat black accent Alpina-style?

1976 Anthrazit Sunroof Car For Sale
I'm in Salem, OR....and the price is $1025. Will neg.
It's a sunroof car with little rust. Nice runner. Pictures and further description upon request. Ok, after I obtain via Ebay a battery charger for my digital camera.
Needs front end freshening and a driver's side window regulator. Sunroof works fine. Seats are torn and car is worn. She's a running/driving project.
Just don't have room for two 02's and my 69 1600 has booted the 76 out of the garage. I don't want it to sit out another winter.

I have an anthrazite, (metallic gray) 1976 car available. It has a sunroof and needs a new owner. My 69 1600 has pushed it outside and I never drive it except to start it and run it around the block.
The car runs Ok, but really needs a thorough going over. Not much rust. Interior is rough but is a great baseline for a project and it will run/drive throughout the course of the project.
I'm asking $1000, but am somewhat negotiable.

As for the presence or non-presence of a snorkel as evidence alone for a nose re-graft, I wouldn't place much weight on that.
Folks around here will more often than not mention the presence of the snorkel means the car has a non-original front nose.
However, I've been told and I think some owners have commented on threads......they were the original owner of a tii and the car has or had a snorkel. That's enough evidence for me.
Also, how many "this tii has a snorkel and must not be original" threads have we had? Answer: plenty! This again leads me to think that not all of these referred to cars have had a nose transplant.
Lastly, there are a ton of anecdotal stories around here about how back in the day, the factory would use what they had during build. Building tii's that day and we only have snorkel noses....no problem....put 'em on.
In this instance, this could most certainly could not be an original nose........but from where I sit, the presence of a snorkel on a tii doesn't mean much.

I realize the car is gone and it's always great to ask for pricing advice.
However, ask for whatever you want to get out of it. The car will either sell or not. No big deal.
You will get flack here if you either intentionally or unintentionally overprice your car. Again, who cares.......its just flack.
Best of luck to whomever legitimately represents their car accurately and asks whatever they want for it.
As for Craigslist ads, less IS more. Provide very little if any, contact information. As has been previously mentioned, people can contact you via the craigslist email alias. You can then screen whom you might want to meet or provide contact information to. In this day & age, exercising caution is good.

You wouldn't happen to have a sister that's single and also, as thoughtful as you....would you? ;-)
Good luck and how cool of you to pop on over to our FAQ.
Best,

Surely, I must be crazy but for some reason or another I have an interest in this car.

Anybody on the FAQ ever drive one, own one, know someone that owned one, ride in one?
At least it (a) looks good and ( is light enough to push.

Hold it a bit South of Seattle and the likelihood of some Oregon folks coming up would be increased.

Hello....
I have a 76 anthrazit (charcoal gray) with a tan interior. No cancer excepting some rust in the front valence. I am in Western Oregon and I want $1100 for the car. It's a nice runner.....needing some front end refresh.
Only selling because I have a 69 1600 that's my main car now and I don't have the room to keep & maintain two.
I'd be willing to even deliver if I could obtain a ride to amtrak and get back home via train.

Welcome back to the Northwest. That's great news. We'll need to visit. I have a 76 anthrazit for sale and for relatively cheap.

If you see a 1969 chamonix 1600 rocketing Northward along the Oregon coast, also....on their way back from the Bay Are 02 show....it would be me.
I think basically, we are doing the same trip. I'm planning on spending one night (Sat night) in Northern Sonoma County and the next night (Sun night) in Brookings/Gold Beach, OR

I recently received my 69 back from Gary @ Boyd's Motor Werks in Portland, OR. I highly recommend Gary's work and attention he puts into your ride. The 69 1600, seriously modded, is the car I've always wanted to own. Unfortunately, I can't afford to maintain two 02's with a 1 car garage and a new home purchase.
So, this means I should move my 76 anthrazit sunroof car with tan interior. Very stock with slights modes, including a 32/36. It runs, it drives and has very little rust. I've had it for 2 years now and it's time for a new home. Probably should think about suspension work....but that's about it for this car to be a basic driver. Course, feel free to upgrade/modify as you see fit.
Pictures upon request. I'm asking $1250. Pictures and more info upon request.
Car is in Salem, Oregon.
Thanks,
Jerry

The heck with the car....how much for the garage and all of the fun & interesting things the p.o. has lurking about in there?

Looking good Mark. That car had probably been sitting nearly 6+ years. It sat 4 years with me and a least a couple down in Southern Oregon before that.
I'm glad you are turning her around. Colorado is such a great 02 color.

You know, there are a lot of West Coast 02'ers here and even more so, California based 02'ers. So, I can see the point of wanting & being able to keep something local.
When you place an ad.......just say, "locals only" or "prefer not to ship". That should cover you just fine.
Jerry - who hates shipping parts too since I worry they won't arrive in good condition, hates packing, going to the post office, etc......

He most certainly sounded like a very interesting individual.
I remember reading about some of his marketing "gimmicks" for his B-horror movies. What a cool former owner to have in the car's past.
