  1. ....and have 6 (13 in.) of them, all ready to be restored and mounted on my 70.

Anybody have ANY idea where to find original Cosmic wheels caps?

I'm thinking, since I have some in very poor shape, I'm going to have new ones fabricated and the original Cosmic pattern re-screened on them.

  2. My name is on the list for the Lynx Manifold group by but....I do have a question.

I've got a "hogged-out" factory intake manifold along with a 38/38 downdraft Weber. It's dialed-in and running fine.

My question is, "why?". Why would someone want to switch?

Is there a major perfromance gain with a single 40 or single 45? Appearance?

I'm just asking....I have no opinion but would like to hear some

just in case the group buy happens and I have to pony up cash.

I put my name on the list for a Lynx, but at the time only had a 32/36 and

wanted more "oomph!" I beleive I have that now with the 38/38

  3. I've been looking at these polished valve covers that are up on

Ebay from time to time. I haven't bought one since I think, I'm

going to try polishing one of the extras I have in my parts stash.

Every once in awhile I see an 02 valve cover that next to the

breather extension, has a flattened area (rectangualr in shape)

    with the attachment holes.

My question is: what went there?

There's a polished cover on Ebay right now with one of those and

for the life of me, I can't figure out what went there. All of my extra

covers do not have that flat spot.

    Thanks.....

  4. Maybe the new format isn't as condusive for getting 1/2 the people riled up either. ;-)

Mind you, I like the new format but I bet the amount of daily posts is down and will remain so for awhile until everyone gets used to the change.

Jerry - who is going to buy BigDog a beer up in Seattle one day. We are afterall, regional neighbors.

PS: Hey BigDog, my buddy owns a bar, 9 Lb. Hammer, in Georgetown up against Boeing Field.

  5. I guess Big Dog....you are part of the 36% (and dwindling by the day) who support the current Pres. By the end of his term, he'll easily be the least popular president that has ever occupied the White House. Inept, irrelevant and everything you don't like about a so-called liberal...you have in Bush. Spend, Spend, SPEND.

    Deep breath....

C'mon, ya'll.....keep the g.d. politics off the main board. AND yes, I'm as guilty as anyone. But when I hear someone pop off so flippantly about something, I'm afraid I have to react.

  6. Anybody have any good, "last ride" stories. That is, you go and find

a running parts car and you somehow, some way nurse that baby home.

I had a roundie once that had the lowest compression possible and would still run. Absolutely NO power and it jogged from one side of the road to the other like a person on ice skates for the first time. Longest 40 mile drive of my life.

Oh....any any feelings about Eibach springs? ;-)

  7. I've got a 1970 Sunroof car I'm bringing back to life. I intend to

refresh the entire suspension/steering etc..... Have already bought

    poly bushings all around.

I actually, don't like the look of a substantially lowered car. Additionally, I have a fiberglass front air dam that I don't want ploughing into the ground.

The car came with big 22mm front/rear sway bars. I'm not sure they are adjustable. I don't think they are, but I'm currently about 50 miles away from the car. So, I can't check.

I'm thinking I'm going to go with 1" lowering Eibach's and I'm torn between Bilstein HD's and Sports. I'm leaning Sports. Are there any 0.5" lowering springs or stock height springs anyone would recommend?

Any impression about Eibach's? Are these progressive or linear springs?

Before I pull the trigger at Shox.com, I'd love any/all opinions. The car will be used only for street driving and this will be of limited spiritedness. That is, I don't drive exceptionally fast or hard.

    Thanks,

  8. Again...dry, desert, probably rust-free.

I can still occasionally run across really nice cheap cars in/around the PacNW and California, but they are getting slightly harder to find.

There are still a bunch of 02 owners that aren't clued into the hobbiest/driver

point of view and they still, get rid of them cheaply.

But in other locations....mid-west, east coast...forget-it. Unless a long stored barn find.
