FS: Complete S14 and Transmission

For sale is a complete S14 motor, with transmission and accessories (except A/C parts). Complete from the air filter to the exhaust manifold, including but not limited to, AFM, starter, alternator, radiator, water pump, and DME. Basically the whole package.

Comes out of a 1988 M3, 116,000 miles. Healthy, strong engine that idles well and pulls cleanly to redline. Well-maintained, with 3,000-mile oil changes and careful use/no abuse. Maintenance in last 10,000 miles includes throttle and airbox o-rings, airbox mount, oil thermostat update, valve cover and lower sump gaskets, E36 timing chain tensioner, coolant manifold gaskets, spark plugs. Turner oil pan baffle and hex-keyed header studs. Some minor weepage from front cover but otherwise tight and leak-free. Needs nothing save a valve adjustment; will probably require alternator in next 10-15k, as bushings are a bit worn and alternator bearing a bit noisy.

Comes with original (U.S. overdrive 5-speed) transmission; trans is tight and shifts well but can occasionally be a tad notchy.

I will be able to provide compression and leakdown test prior to pulling motor next week. The package will be available in Chicago at Ben Thongsai's shop in approximately two weeks.
