Air pump removal

Over the turkey day weekend I want to bag the air pump and it's related equipment, along w/ the arm that holds the pump on, but it would be nice to know if where the arm mounts is or isn't a gasket area, can I remove it w/o concern?

Thanks in advance, Jeff

part of the dipstick holder (really!). You can either saw the bracket from the dipstick holder part, or get a dipstick holder from a non-air pump car (like a 73 or 74). Don't know about the later cars...

The car is a '75' the dip stick is into the block, I just want to make sure the arm is not needed to do something else, like help keep the oil in?

Thanks

I removed the bracket from my '75 (April ' 75 manufacture) with no problem. There was no connection to the dip stick bracket, I don't think. That was 20 years ago, so maybe I'm not remembering correctly.

The cast aluminum ones on the early cars had rubber bushings that the air pump wore thru, then wore thru the bracket itself. That's when I removed mine! Anyone...are the later brackets steel?
