Date of manufacture through VIN?

I recall there was a way to check the date of manufacture using your VIN on http://www2002registry.com/ page. That site has been down for a while.

Is there an alternate site out there somewhere?

looks like I had the wrong url.

I don't see the VIN/DOM lookup feature. Perhaps I was thinking of another site.

I successfully rec'd my car's date of manufacture recently by requesting it using the VIN from Andreas.Harz@partner.bmwgroup.com. Mr. Harz got back to me in several business days with DOM and importer. Good luck.
