wanted WTB 1976 2002 in good condition; manual transmission

Hey all!  This is my first post here, so if this isn't allowed please let me know. 

 

My husband had a 1976 2002 that he bought in 1990--original light blue paint, tan leather interior, sunroof, working everything--that we had to sell in 1996...and I think he's been looking to get it back ever since!  We loved the car, and I'd love to find another one for him and our son to drive around town.  The only requirement, other than it needs to actually run, is that it have manual transmission.  Ideally, it would also have a sunroof and a decent interior.  We know nothing about cars...but are willing to learn!  Is there any chance of finding something that hasn't been completely redone and still runs for less than $5,000?  I'm in Houston, but can drive up to a 400 mile radius to take a look at something.  Thank you so much!!!
